My DD has peanut allergy. I did have peanuts while PG with her... Didn't think it would ever happen to me but it did :-(. With DS I tried to avoid peanut but I don't think I did completely. He is peanut allergy -free.

My doctor said not to worry about it unless you or someone in your family has an allergy. I ate peanut butter milkshakes when I was pregnant like crazy.
Lo hasn't had peanuts yet because she's only 15 months.... but I do admit to doing stupid things and giving her Chinese and other food that was probably cooked in peanut oil without thinking first, and she hasn't had any reactions.

I have a peanut allergy, and I doubt that my mom ate peanuts in any quantity - or any of the things I'm allergic to. They say you don't get a specific allergy from your parents but rather the tendency to have food allergies. I'm absolutely sure that's the real reason I have them! Several of my family members have food allergies, though we don't necessarily overlap.

Yup, I ate peanut butter with DD and she is allergic peanuts. I stopped eating all nuts with this pregnancy as soon as I found out about her allergy but I had already had some. We'll see if I was able to do anything in avoiding an allergy for DD #2. And we have no other nut allergies in our family so
don't believe what the doctors say about family medical histories. Allergies can still pop up in your kids.

One of my best friends ate peanut butter on toast pretty much every day of her pregnancy because it was the only thing that kept her from puking in the morning. Her son is now 10 years old and has no nut allergies at all. I think it's pretty much luck of the draw. I don't eat a ton of peanuts but I've had some PB&Js during my pregnancy.
