My hubby and I are planning on pizza tonight. I've read conflicting info on pepperoni. Eat or not? I'm 8 weeks.

I haven't heard anything about avoiding pepperoni while pregnant but I also don't eat pepperoni...so it's not something I've researched.

Definitely not cold. I ate it (hot) when pregnant occasionally, but when I made it at home I bought the nitrate free kind.

I wouldn't eat it every day (pregnant or not) since it has a lot of nitrates, but I think it's fine in moderation. I ate it when I was pregnant.

I ate it while pregnant from time to time, as long as it was heated.

Everything has a conflicting report; if you're going to stress out about it don't eat it
if you are going out, pizza ovens get pretty hot: it's not something I would/did worry about. Then again, I also are pepperoni cold in subs, so

I ate pizza allllllll the time. It was something I craved. Especially in the first trimester, was one of the few things that didn't make me nauseous.

I ate so much pepperoni pizza while I was pregnant that DH was convinced DD was going to come out as a pizza.
But, seriously. You are going to drive yourself nuts. Talk to your doctor, stay off the Internet, and trust your guy. You've got a long way to go and many more decisions ahead.

I ate it. Especially on a cooked pizza, it wouldn't even register as something dangerous, besides being a generally less than ideal health choice.
But I ate it cold too... so... take it for what you will.

I ate dry salami and pepperoni if it was cooked (like on pizza), but not if it was uncooked (like in salad or as part of a charcuterie plate).

I'd say pepperoni follows the coldcuts rule...heated us fine; cold isn't.

I ate pepperoni during my first (well...and this pregnancy too!) and DS turned out just fine and is perfectly healthy.

Uh, I didn't even know this was a thing. I ate pepperoni on pizza probably every week during my pregnancy!!

I totally feel you on being paranoid about everything! I usually just try to remind myself that I've eaten everything the past 20 something years and have rarely gotten sick, and nothing more than a mild stomach virus!
