My shower is scheduled for when I'm 36 weeks, and I'm so scared: what if I go into labor sooner?? At that point, does it become a Meet and Welcome Baby party? Although, I wouldn't want a whole flock of people around my newborn so cancelling that idea.
I have no signs of early labor, just... "psychosis". (ha ha). What's the latest you've had a shower? Adding a poll. This is my first time adding a poll so hopefully I did it right!

I had one at 31 and 33 weeks. Work ended up doing one as well and that was 36 weeks.

My friends that are throwing it could only get together on one date that's kinda early. I'll only be 22 weeks. But I'd rather have it early than getting really close to my due date. I'm way too obsessive about buying things, no way I could wait that long until after the shower!

@MrsLilybugg: Statistically is pretty unlikely you will go into labour before then. I would try not to worry about it 
If you do then it will be all part of your little ones story!

I just had one at 27 weeks and my second will be at 29 weeks. I thought about this early on and actually requested specific dates for them months ago. I wanted to be able to see what we got before setting up our nursery or making any major purchases and also didn't want to be super huge and uncomfortable or risk going into early labor and missing it. Plus I knew one would be in MI and we would have to fly out there so I took that into consideration as well.

I sympathise!!! My hubby is going away for 4 days when I'm 37 weeks and I am CONVINCED I will go into labour while he is away. Of course, that is very, very unlikely!!!
What's the worst that can happen, shower-wise, if you do have the baby before then? Your friends and family will have to mail you the gifts and then you can have a sip-and-see when you and baby are ready to meet and greet. No harm done!

I was 34 weeks. My step-MIL tried to get my mom to move it to when I would be 36 weeks, but I vetoed that because I was too afraid of going into labor early and not having time to get everything ready!

I should also add that I had my work shower the week before I gave birth. Seriously, the shower was that Thursday or Friday which was my last week and I went in for induction the following Tuesday night.

This is making me feel so much better! and it's true, it would be a part of the birth story IF I did have early labor, which statistically is NOT likely (I will have to keep repeating that to myself, and you too @Cherrybee ) , and IF it did a sip and see is a lovely idea!

Mine will be before 30 weeks but only because I have to fly to get to them (we live in FL and are from IN and NJ.) I had a friend who this happened to, and they didn't do another shower- they did still hold it! And virtually "video chatted" her and the baby at the hospital. And then her mom had all gifts brought to her house so they were ready when she got home. So that's an idea if it's in town! Otherwise just scrap it and focus on baby being healthy. But I doubt you'll have to deal with it- such a SLIM chance!

My shower was at 33 weeks. I'm 36 weeks now, and if my shower was this week, I'd still feel good enough that I'd enjoy it. In fact, my work just threw a little surprise in-office shower for me yesterday! Don't worry

Both my showers were in the late 30s (35 weeks and 36 weeks) I was nervous as well but it was totally okay. I was 5 days late (and was induced, so who knows how long it would have gone on) so my showers were long behind me by the time I delivered.

I think it was fun to have a relatively late shower when I had a big baby bump and lots of late-pregnancy excitement!
I agree with @Cherrybee: If it happens, it happens. You'll have a great story and you can have a get-together at a later date. People will still be thrilled to shower you with love when you have a 2 or 3 month old baby, whatever you feel comfortable with!

I had 2 before 30 weeks, but I wish they were 30-35 weeks. For one of them I was flying in from out of town for something else, so it was a good time without me having to take a second flight. The second one, my hostesses wanted to do it before Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years

My family and friends shower was a day before I turned 34 weeks. I'm having a celebration at work tomorrow and I'll be 38 weeks 4 days

I think I was 33 or 34 weeks for my shower. Like Pepper said though, I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and would still be fine having a shower now Try not to stress and enjoy it!

I think I was 30 or 31 weeks. It was at my parents house (across the country from where I was living at the time), so we had to do it before my doctor cut me off from flying.
