@lilteacherbee: yay summer!! does it make you sad to say goodbye to all the little cuties?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@chopsuey119: Oh, it's okay. My class ended at 4pm my time so I was trying to get back to my desk to start the post-a-thon chat.

@chopsuey119: Yes, seriously almost cried today hahaha. But we have our little graduation ceremony next Monday, so I'll see them again.

i'm actually typing up a cover letter right now for a teaching position in the fall. i have a degree in education, but i've been doing photography for the past two years. this is too weird.

@Running Elley: I'll respond to you over here DH is making chicken fetticini alfredo and I'm super excited haha.
Well I'll still be working part-time this summer subbing at a daycare, but we're hoping to go to Charleston for a long weekend sometime in July (its only a 2-3 hour drive for us). Also, I reallyyyy wanna take a cruise to the Bahamas before DH and I start teaching again in August!

@lilteacherbee: Oh. My. Gosh. Your dinner sounds AMAZING. That may need to go on our menu sometime next week. I haven’t thought about that in forever and right now it sounds better than anything!!!!! Uh Oh
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
@lilteacherbee: jumping in on your response to Running Elley, but we just took a cruise in april, and it was AMAZING. i want to go again asap. just thinking about all that food and those lounge chairs makes me depressed.
so you teach pre-k? how do you like it? i think they're SO adorable, but i don't think i'd have the patience.

@Coco Bee: i just ordered a bunch of fabric off of fabric.com for my living room (throw pillows, etc.). they have lots of cute stuff. if you spend $35 you get free shipping, and "BRTH11A" takes 15% off $40!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@photojane: oooh good to know! I've ordered from them before sadly they don't have the chevron I like

@chopsuey119: Yup, still at work. I actually need to leave in 10 minutes to catch a bus. So I'm trying to be here right now. I'll be posting from my phone.

@Running Elley: It was super delicious!!! One reason I married that man is because he can cook haha
@photojane: I've never been on a cruise before! One of my friends just got back (she got engaged when she was on the ship!) and she's making me want to go on one really bad!
And yes, I teach pre-k! I have a ton of patience when it comes to these kids (most days...), but kids in my family is where the patience stops haha. I usually get 2 responses when I tell people that I teach little kids- #1) "omg, you color all day?! how fun." And #2) "Holycrap how do you do that all day?!"
What do you teach?

@MrsCastro: I really like your avatar, btw. Reminds me of the movie, 'Finding Nemo.'

@bluestriped bee; i figured i needed to get an avatar...i love turtles and i actually almost did go for a pic of squirt...but i liked this one a tad better...

Hi, ladies! I was checking on here and forgot there was the postathon!!! Now I"m joining in!
I just buzzed Hubby's hair and I'm enjoying my 2nd margarita or maybe it's 3rd.....I've lost track. Hubby wanted to wait until later to buzz his hair and I convinced him that earlier was better than later tonight.

@photojane: I love fabric.com. My mom and I stalk it all the time. She will call me and be like, "did you see the...?" and I'll say, "Oh, yes, it's precious...did you see...?" We don't even have to say which fabric because we are both dorks and know what the other one is talking about.

@lilteacherbee: I taught preK-6th grade music for 10 yrs. this year I'm moving to 6th grade full time and I"m teaching english, spelling, literature/reading, and religion. I have mild panic attacks at the thought of teaching 6th graders all day long, but I'm really happy with my move.

@Jennimac: Wow! That sounds fun though- lots of different subjects! A ton of people say they couldn't teach little kids, but I'm the first to say that teaching middle schoolers would terrify me! But I'm sure you'll be fine since you've had experience with them!!

I loved the littles and I loved the big kids. It will be very different having so many subjects. I'm used to teaching the same thing 7 classes and stuff.

@Coco Bee: i ordered a yellow chevron for pillows, and i'm so excited. what are you looking for?
@lilteacherbee: you should not hesitate - you will love cruising! i can't imagine anyone not liking it.
& i originally went to school for elementary, and did lots of practicums/shadowing in elementary classrooms. i loved playing with the kids, but when it came time to teach them i couldn't hack it. maybe i'm not bubbly enough? i teach high school history/government.
@Jennimac: oh, i get it! i have a weird obsession with fabric. i wish i had the time and ability to sew everything i see on pinterest!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@photojane: the chevron they carry is a home dec fabric so it has more of a canvas texture to it. I hadn't known that and had ordered it a few months back. But I just had an idea- I can use it for drapes for my son's room! So I may end up purchasing from fabric.com to get some blackout lining..
I am looking for a softer chevron to make his crib sheets and a crib blanket. There is a lady on Etsy who makes her own soft jersey knit organic chevron and it's gorgeous. She doesn't make sheets though, I was so disappointed.

@photojane: Cool! DH was majoring in secondary ed/history for the first 2 years of college and then switched to elementary. Now, he's teaching 2nd grade! Quite a change from the 11th grade US History class he shadowed in.

Hello all! I'm super bummed because my husband is working late and I'm leaving tomorrow for a 10 day trip. We were supposed to go shopping and maybe have dinner together.

@lilteacherbee: i think i just like that i can be mean to the big kids. i feel bad yelling at the cute little ones.
@Coco Bee: curtains would be super cute! i actually added this etsy seller to my favorites just because of her chevron crib sheets: http://www.etsy.com/shop/HouseofHenderson?ref=af_you_favitem.
