So I am leaving right from work at 4 on Friday, picking ds up from daycare and hitting the road for a 4 hour road trip. I'm wondering how I should feed him dinner in the car? If he falls asleep (which he usually does) should I let him sleep or wake him? What would you do?

maybe feed him something right after daycare, so that if he does fall asleep you can feel okay letting him sleep without worrying that he's hungry?
will someone else be with you? if so you could sit in the back while they're driving so you can feed LO?

@Penny Lane: just the two of us. right now i'm thinking about swinging by chick-fil-a and getting him some nuggets or something on the way out of town. not sure if i'd be better off with that or a pouch...i don't want him to starve, but i hate stopping too and want to get there!

@matador84: haha! i feel you on the no stopping thing!
if it were me, i would give my LO a pouch of something right as we left. if he falls asleep, he falls asleep. if, at actual dinner time, he is awake and hungry/fussy, I would run through a chick-fil-a drive thru and grab him some nuggets to munch! (not sure if drive thrus violate your no stopping rule though
)

@Penny Lane: i am leaning towards pouch as we are leaving. what can i say, i like to plan road trips! the only thing is, once we are on the road, there aren't many, if any drive-thru decent places to stop until we get there. i hate to feed him two pouches if i have to, but i guess i could.

if i'm being honest with myself, if this were me, what would happen is i would leave for the trip, and LO would be screaming fussy and starving a couple hours in because I forgot to bring him some food. and knowing my luck, there would be no food for miles.
