Just curious...has any of you gotten pregnant while breast feeding AND your period had not returned yet? If so, how did you know you were pregnant?

I was still BF'ing and whilst my period had returned, it was very irregular and I'd only had it twice before getting pregnant. I suspected I might be pregnant when foods that normally taste good to me, started making me feel nauseous. I also was feeling a lot of weird sensations in my belly and could have sworn it was baby movements if I wasn't 100% sure it wasn't possible for me to be that far along. Other than that, I had no indicators. I took a test on a whim, it was negative, so I just chalked things up to PMS. Once a week and a half went by and I'd still not had AF, I took another test and it was a super dark line immediately.
None of the pregnancy symptoms I had the first time around made an appearance with this pregnancy. Last time I had terrible cramping, complete exhaustion, sore boobs, and massive bloating. This time, the only indicator was a tiny bit of nausea that lasted for two days, and exhaustion that hit much later than last time (around 8 weeks instead of immediately).

my period had technically returned, but I had only had 2 super short and light bleeds with looong cycles when I got pregnant.
I took a test because I was exhausted, nauseous, and had aversions to anything edible! nothing like pre-BFP the first time, but also nothing like normal pre-AF. even with all those symptoms I was shocked it was positive because I wasn't convinced AF was REALLY back, you know?

@Ree723: @Penny Lane: ahh ok good to know! Thanks!! I was just curious because I am 9 months pp and still no sign of AF. I nurse morning and night and pump 3x a day at work. DD is STTN and eating solids. We are planning to TTC for baby 2 next year and was wondering what are the chances of it happening if I was still bf and no period. My goal is to bf until she's one and possibly beyond...but if that decreases my chances of getting pregnant I may need to rethink the beyond part!

Still breast feeding and 4 months pregnant. Started feeling bad and took a test on a whim. Nearly fell over when it came up bfp.

I'm wondering about this too... we'd like to possibly try for #2 when M is one, but what happens if I don't get my period by then?? I'm following this

I got pregnant while bf and never had a period. LO was about 21 months.
We were ready for another baby so I ordered cheap tests off amazon and would test every so often. When I found out though was because I'd had a sinus infection for over a week and decided it was prob time for antibiotics but tested before I went to the doctor in case I was pregnant so I didn't go on anything unsafe for baby. The test was positive. Since I was sick with a fever I really had no way to distinguish sinus infection feeling yuckiness with pregnancy yuckiness except that I was exceptionally exhausted.

I had some spotting for the first time when DS was about 10.5 - 11 months old but it was really light, maybe a couple spots on a panty liner but that's it. I thought it meant that maybe my period was returning. A couple weeks later I noticed what I thought was EWCM so I took an opk and it was positive. I tested about 2 weeks later and got a bfp.
