Looks like the majority of childcare this summer will be in the form of one grandma staying with us and then the other.

We're usually a family of four in a 1500sq ft 3/2. We plan to move DD into DS's room and clear out as much as we can to make it more of a guest room space. More than we do for the typical 5 day stays anyway. We're also planning on having the kids use our bathroom. Alternatively we're open to having grandma take our room.

What else can we do to create enough space for everyone to breathe? Buy a chair and a TV for the room? Do I clear out a cabinet in the kitchen or does that feel too roommate-like?

DH and I are fortunate to have an office room which we will be working in together. The other rooms are the kitchen and living room.
