I was in the opposite situation. I gave birth during the heat of a southern summer. It was too darn hot out to go for walks outside. Those first two months for me were rough with breastfeeding and getting to know her so, I don't think I felt the stir-craziness like you think you would. Maybe all of my doctor and LC appointments made it okay?

I'm also a homebody, though so that probably worked in my favor.

My SIL is worried about the same thing! She's due in February. She had my niece and nephew in June, so they lived outside! She's a little worried about going stir crazy since she doesn't want to take the new little lady to the mall to walk or anything since there are so many people and lots of germs.

So far, on the rainy days here, I've thrived on visitors. Even if they're just at night. I try to get all of my things done during the day and catch naps while Sam naps and then enjoy visitors at night. You might also just go for car rides so that you get out of the house but baby is still nice and cozy warm!

@Mrs. Tricycle: I honestly have *no* idea, lol. I don't want to give you the wrong answer. but - personally, I plan to worry about people touching (as well as myself and husband touching things and then touching her). I also will probably worry about airborne germs in a situation where people are sneezing or coughing. Which I guess to be devil's advocate, someone could cough or sneeze in an area and I won't see it and then walk there? anyone know how long germs "last" in midair? lol

@Mrs. Tricycle: if you keep the baby covered up and don't let people get near, you should be okay. We took M to the mall before her 2 month shots and while I was looking at shoes, my husband opened up the stroller shade so he could look at her. Some lady tried to reach down and touch her when she saw the baby, then told us she was battling a cough!! From then on, we kept the shades up on the carseat and stroller so no one could see her. No one can see, no one can touch.
