Just like the title says. I was going to order from Pottery Barn but they are $35 with personalization ... bleh. Maybe I can do better.
Where did you get yours? We need 3 - one for me, one for DW, and one for DS who will be here in November!

@wrkbrk: merry stockings! Got them via a deal site and paid less than $15 per. They're a really nice quality too.
I'm a fan of classic styles but they have others too.

Following bc I need to get DS one this year. I didn't last year, but he was only 5 months old
. DH and I made each other's stocking when we were dating years back.

Ours are handmade by a local crafter from old quilts. I bought ones for DH and me years ago at a craft fair and MIL tracked the lady down when I was pregnant to get ones for our twins.

Ours are from pottery barn I caught them on sale for $20 with personalization. They are the classic stockings. I'm hoping to catch them again this year for DD.

@jetsa: do you at least feel like the quality is worth it? so hard to tell from a picture. maybe i will wait and find a discount code!
grapefruit / 4545 posts
I make the Buscilla ones from Merry Stockings. I have one from my childhood (my mom made it) and am now finishing DDs. I will then move on the DH's (golfing santa) and then LO#2 after that!

@wrkbrk: do you have a PB credit card? I have a $25 off $50 coupon if you do and you want it - but you have to use a PB card for purchase.

pottery barn when they went on sale and then my mom made some for us too!

ours are from pottery barn but I think I got them for 20% off when they had a promo going. just a warning that some of them are HUGE so if you decide to go that route, check the dimensions before you order. I stupidly bought one for DS from my phone during a MOTN nursing session and it is enormous - now we have to fill that sucker up every year (and probably buy matching gigantic ones for future LOs)!

Pottery barn on sale, but I took them elsewhere to get embroidered. Ours are not huge like @jape14: though.

follow-up with a PSA to all - the enormous ones are the "fair isle" ones from PB Kids!

We got DS one from Pottery Barn to keep at his grandmother's house for the years we visit them for the holidays. I like the quality very much and the quilted ones are only $18 right now. With personalization it would be closer to $30 but the shipping is free and you can get them embroidered elsewhere if you like.

@jape14: haha!! interesting that you posted this because i was debating mediums v. larges! mediums it is ...

I knit them! Well DS2s is still in progress... Still have to turn the heel etc.,

@wrkbrk: yes completely and totally. We will have these forever. I was super duper hesitant but totally worth it

We got ours from Walmart and Hobby Lobby. I would like to make matching ones for us when our family is complete.

Lands End - got them on a deal last year around Black Friday with personalization. They are classic red and white.

I've been perusing etsy....but I can also sew and got a snazzy new machine this year that can embroider so I may end up making them.
The etsy ones seem to run around 20 a piece with embroidery if you order more than one. I have a friend that bought heres this way last year and they are gorgeous!

we got ours at pbk. we have a mix of woodland stockings and quilted stockings. i like them! theyre more pricy but we plan to use them for a long time so we figure its worth the price. i love the quality, super thick and plushy. they usually have a sale where they have free personalization, i think around october or november. so i'd watch for that!

We allhave the PBK ones. DH wanted us all to match. This is the one we got DS and it's on sale for $18 - http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/train-quilted-stocking-2014/?pkey=cchristmas-all&&cchristmas-all

If you want personalized, http://www.personalizationmall.com probably has some. They usually have good sales and have great products! I love shopping there when I want something personalized. I'm sure Etsy has some nice ones too. Otherwise, I usually just get a cheapy one at Walmart and do the glitter name!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@Mrs D: Me too! I have the one my mom made for me, and she has the one her mom made for her. I'm working on DD2's now.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@rattles: UGH...they take forever dont they? I have been working on DD's off and on for a year...need to be much quicker with DH and LO#2's....I love them though...so worth it!
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
PB. I got them on sale and I like that they always carry the same classics so if we need to add one or replace one, we can:). I think they were like $25 each w/monogramming, and I figure we'll use them 10+ years, so if you divide the $ by the length of time they'll last, it comes out to a minuscule amount per year:)
pomelo / 5084 posts
It's looking like $35 isn't outrageous for what I want! Probably will do the PB ones we originally liked, but will check out Lands End and some other places that were suggested!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@Mrs D: It's worth it to me, but they really do! I started it when I was pregnant, and she'll be 1 in November. Granted, I'm not continuously working on it, but still! With kids two years apart, I feel like I've been making stockings for the last four years!
pear / 1586 posts
I second lands end. We don't have them embroidered but it is an option. I bought them at Sears in early December last year for, I believe, $16. Cheaper than if I were to buy them now! They are needlepoint wool.
pomegranate / 3272 posts
My mom cross stitches one for all of her grandkids. Love that tradition. However, DH and I got matching ones from Etsy as a wedding gift.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@wrkbrk: I bought mine in early December 2013. It was a one day sale for $20 including personalization. Ours are mediums which is plenty big
pomelo / 5298 posts
@wrkbrk: I'd probably wait. I know PB does a sale on them each year and I know the Lands End ones we got last year were also on sale. THey aren't even out on their site yet.
honeydew / 7622 posts
We got these last year but got stripes and fair isle- I don't like the designs as much this year. Ts Gigi made her stocking-hand beaded with sequins. Glad I don't have to worry about it.
I vote just get the PB ones if you love them.
persimmon / 1071 posts
@wrkbrk: We're still using our stockings that I got us from the dollar store when we first started dating! lol. I've been looking for nice stockings too, but they are pretty expensive. I'll most likely get them from Sears or Canadian Tire.
nectarine / 2047 posts
@wrkbrk: Now you've given me something else to obsessively research! Thanks a lot! My husband really likes the hand knitted ones, but holy cow, so expensive! And most etsy sellers aren't taking anymore orders for this Christmas
