We are looking to get a second car seat for when DH gets his car (hopefully this week). We have an Evenflo Titan Elite for my car, and we could get the same one for DH's since the price is right...but I wanted to switch it up, or at least consider another one. We can't really afford a $150+ car seat right now, unfortunately. Links would be super helpful!

well...we have this one, which I got for $79. It's full price on the website though. They were phasing them out of target stores and replacing with the myride 70. so def up there in price now I guess, but just wanted to share the link anyway!

You're in Michigan...so you have Meijers right? Because I have seen convertible car seats on clearance there SO MANY TIMES. My neighbor got a $180 car seat from there 2 weeks ago for 50% off so, $60. SO.LUCKY! I went soon after but they ran out and with LO, I don't have the time/energy to search for them in multiple locations. -

This is slightly off topic.. But since they all have to conform to the safety rules, does anyone know why there's such a huge difference in price?

I believe the Cosco Scenera is also very reasonably priced and gets high marks.
@beaker, I think the price differential accounts for nicer fabrics, more padding, cosmetic design, that sort of thing. But you're right in that they're all about the same safety-wise.

@beaker: ill probably stick with britax for convertible bc their customer service was amazing with our infant seat.
Reading though to consider cheaper options!

We bought the Evenflo Tribute for DH's car from Walmart. So far we love it. It was $59.
