Have you seen this site? It claims to have a map of income and rent for every neighborhood in America. I searched by rent and income and wasn't too surprised by it. Although it did put things in perspective for me...on the days I feel broke, I'm really not broke compared to a lot of other people. I don't know how people live on $22,000 in NYC.

Very interesting! We live in very green area, but make closer to the red side of things... ha.

I actually was a little surprised, we are in a little lighter of a green area and the rest of our neighborhood/neighboring cities is pretty dark green! But our income is pretty average, not dark green #s! We went out of our way to live in a safe area(top of our housing budget) so I'm not surprised the area is green.

We're in an interesting area because we live in a green area (and are in the green income wise), but to the east, west, and south of us orange to red. (We pay orange rent though!) If you go north it's green and dark green.

@mrsjazz: Yeah it's a interesting how stark some of the differences are on the map..it's not green, light green, yellow, orange, red..lots of areas are like green, orange/red!

I live in one of the largest Naval areas in America, and I noticed that all around one of our huge bases the income was all in the red spectrum, which made me sad. I wish they were making more!

This isn't surprising to me for Mass at all. Mass is very divided by the town you live in and the cost of housing for that particular town.
