I have 2 boys (4y and 20m). My older one has always been pretty gentle and is very sensitive. We never really had to discipline him. Our younger son is a wild child. He is independent and full of energy, but man, he is ROUGH. He literally beats up his older, and much bigger, brother. He pulls his hair, he hits him, and today he scratched his face, close to his eye. Sometimes it starts out by the two of them playing together and in an instant it just escalates. Other times, it's just seemingly out of the blue. He will literally walk up to him and pull his hair. And then of course, they fight over toys sometimes, and an argument follows.

DS2 is not extremely verbal at this point. He can say words, but not enough to express himself or how he's feeling. We've tried all types of discipline: time outs, doing "gentle hands", not showing major reactions....I just feel like nothing is working!

Now that we are due with DD in a few weeks, I'm growing increasingly worried that he's going to lose his tiny wild-child marbles when she arrives and go completely nuclear.

Does anyone have any advice/tips/commiseration? I am praying that this is a phase that we can help him grow out of (quickly!)!
