not a SAHM, but since my days are very similar, i dress like one today, i'm wearing wearing jeans, a white tee, a royal blue boyfriend cardi, ballet flats and a long necklace. i ordered some new stuff for fall that should arrive this wk, a pair of knee high boots, some new ponte pants, leggings, a few tunic tops (found some cute ones on modcloth), a few long cardigans & sweaters. i would like to get a couple vests. some of my dresses from over the summer can be worn still if i add leggings and a cardi or blazer (i need a new blazer though). love layers!

My SAHM wardrobe consists of yoga pants, a couple nursing tops, DH's tshirts and one pair of skinny jeans that actually fit (somehow I am 2 sizes smaller PP). Also I spend all my money on baby clothes so I'm not even going to do anything to change this, haha. Luckily we don't go a lot of places right now!

A rotation of a few long casual tops from old navy and target, skinny jeans, and toms is like my uniform right now for playdates and classes. Usually when we don't have those things scheduled, it's workout stuff since that's how we spend our other time (DD goes to the babysitting there).

Do you have to take your shoes off when you're going to an activity? That was always an "outfit changing" annoyance...like we went to a play group and we had to take shoes off before entering, so it was limiting in that I didn't want to be rocking skinny jeans and knee high socks on the OUTSIDE, lol.
If your child is going to do any sports activities, maybe something with sneakers/boot cut yoga pants, in case you need to run alongside?

Skinny jeans, leggings, button front shirts, cardigans, and pretty flats is pretty much my uniform.
@looch: lol I hate when moms have to take their shoes off! I totally get it of course, but it's hard to look cute when you have to wear socks!

Skinny jeans, long cardigans, booties, knee boots, flats. As others said, it depends on where we're going as to what shoes I'll be wearing

Ah...DH's sweatpants...a pair of "going out" yoga pants...a few hoodies... Yeah.

I'd like to take my mom look up a notch. I love jeans in the fall but I would like to wear leggings, but -and this sounds weird- I don't know how to wear them. What kind of tops should you wear with leggings? Do you HAVE to wear boots? I'd like to but I'd also like to do ballet flats or Toms, especially when I have to work at my son's preschool. I'm back down to my prepreg weight, but that number is higher that I would like and I would like to lose 10 more.
Sorry to thread jack, but I'm looking for inspiration also.

@BabyBruins: I'm wondering the same thing. I just bought my first pair of skinny jeans this weekend so I'm a little out of step. I bought some leggings but I don't know what to wear them with!!

@BabyBruins: and @JMOM: I'm learning myself but I tend to wear more loose tops that are a bit longer (I think they are frequently referred to as tunics) with my skinny jeans and leggings (I doubt my first pairs of each this spring). And I only wear mine with boots (but that is mainly because I don't know what else to put with them that looks "right" to me).

@twodoghouse: ditto on all accounts. even the jeans! lol well i'm only 1 size smaller but the fact remains i have 1 pair of jeans that doesn't fall off my ass when i walk across a room.

@JMOM: I think the key with leggings is to remember that they're not pants??

These sum up what I wear most days. I can still run errands, baby wear, run at the playground and feel comfortable

Y'all are fancy.
I'm a part-time WAHM & I wear jeans (sometimes maternity jeans at almost a year PP) & a T-shirt, maybe a cardigan now that it's getting cooler, and whatever shoes I can find that usually don't match my outfit (if you can call it that). Maybe I'll start throwing on a scarf too.
If it's a really exciting day, I'll brush my hair.

When I'm home: comfy stuff
When I'm out in about: cute stuff! I love leggings, booties, longer/looser shirts with cute scarves, long sweaters, lace, anything with leather accents....
I'm so excited for the weather to cool down because I love fall clothes!

@Kemma: You cracked me up. I don't like super tight clothes so I would never dream of wearing them just by themselves. I'll have to play around with some of my clothes to see what they look good under. Thanks for making me laugh!

Since it's still so hot here... shorts and a t-shirt with flip flops. I can't wait until it cools down so I can wear pants again. I kind of miss it!

I just bought a sweatshirt moto jacket and I'm in love, so comfy but cool looking. Leggings, skinnies, loose shirts over nursing tank, flats and booties are my uniform. For jackets I also have a canvas military style jacket and a navy swing jacket. Scarves for pops of color and texture since most of my clothes are neutral. Sunglasses as headband for messy hair days!

It's still really hot here, so I'm in shorts/t shirt. I wear yoga capris, tanks and nursing bra with teething necklace. Hair up in a clip. I've tried to go shopping for clothes, but I hate everything. Ugh.
