Did any of you go back to work and realize work wasn't where you wanted to be? Or that you'd rather be at home looking after your LO?

I'm really curious about this....I'm a 2nd grade teacher and LOVE my job, but something tells me after a full year off on maternity leave it's going to be hard going back and leaving LO....I've always wanted to be a WOHM mom but lately I've been wondering if I will change my mind once LO arrives!

I went back to work after my first was born. Within a few weeks, I knew I didn't want to do it anymore. I always thought I wanted to be a WOHM, but once I had DD I changed my mind.
It took about a year and a half before we could arrange for me to be home full time. I'm glad we were eventually able to make it work, though, and I'm very thankful I get to be at home with both of my kids right now.

I'm thinking about doing this. Not because I don't like my job it's just the politics are getting kind of "hot in here", not to go into too much detail I'm in the defense industry and I know a lot people I work with probably need a job more than I do which is why I'm considering it. Plus I would love to spend more time with DS and watch him grow up, sometimes it feels like that's going by too fast and I'm missing it.
I'm still on the fence though.

I'm the opposite I was a SAHM for the first year of J's life and now I've been working for a month and I so do not miss being a SAHM.

Me! I went back to my job after four months of maternity leave. I was absolutely miserable being back ... Only lasted two months before I decided to quit and be a sahm. Best decision I ever made

I went back to work after DS and hated it! Then after I had DD we made the decision for me to be a sahm. I hate leaving my kids, the thought of returning to work gives me crazy anxiety. Best decision ever to be a sahm!

I made it two months before quitting to be at home. We had pretty much no child care options with our long commute, MIL was supposed to care for LO but "dropped out" after a few weeks. I feel fortunate to be able to stay home but I really liked my job. I've only been home a week and am a little panicked that I can't hack it.

Not me...By the time LO was 7 months old, I was itching to get back to work. When I finally did go back when LO was 13 months, it was verrrry hard to adjust back after being gone for so long and there are days that I hate it but I know that I need my work...I need TO work. I am considering taking some time off when LOs are in school.

I started out a SAHM for 4 months, worked part-time at home for about 6 months and am now strictly a SAHM again. My husband and I always felt rushed with scheduling and making sure he was home in time to watch LO so I could log enough hours in and make scheduled calls. My friends thought I was so lucky working from home but let's just say it's very hard unless you have a LO who naps for 5 hours a day or you pay for childcare, which didn't make sense for us financially. I have found I really enjoy being home with my LO and we decided the extra money isn't worth the stress at this time.
