Anyone else watching the special tonight? Did you watch SNL as a kid (or still do now)? What are your favorite sketches/characters?
My parents didn't let us watch it when I was younger, but my husband is always referencing old SNL stuff. I feel like watching tonight is a primer on all the things I missed out on in my youth!

I am! I started watching it in early high school with my parents because 11 was my curfew so I'd watch with them when I got home. I never watched all that much in college or after but I'm enjoying the special!

We are watching and letting our toddler run around late, both of us watched as kids and onwards. Probably parents fail, but whatev's!

We're watching it. DH has always been a big SNL fan. I'm somewhere in the middle - there are certain sketches/people that I really like and think are super funny, and there are others I can't stand that seem to drag on forever. I've liked the special so far though!
Or I did. Right until this moment when they broke out in the "What's Up With That?" bit Kenan does. I hate that one. Although at least it was short instead of dragging on and on and on like usual. And now they're showing a bit from Jaws, when great white sharks are my big huge fear thanks to being scarred on that ride as a kid. Sigh. I guess I shouldn't have said it was going good. Jinxed myself, lol
I thought the opening was very well done though, those two are always great together!

@wonderstruck: I missed the opening as we were putting our kids down at the time! We have the whole thing on DVR (because we also can't stay up past 9, haha) so I'll have to watch the beginning sometime!

I missed the beginning, so I'll have to re-watch, but my favorite is Wayne's World. I was so happy to see them do a new one. We saw Dana Carvey in Vegas once and he did all the voices to his acts, it was awesome!
I was happy to see King Tut and a few of my other old favorites (explaining my "Jane, you ignorant slut" comment above) I was pleasantly surprised by Miley (was that really her? did she have a tongue amputation?) doing 50 Ways.
I thought the Kanye/Sia song was a complete waste of time.
