I've noticed that some due date months are more active and populated than others. I'm wondering if any of you would be interested in having seasonal boards in addition to the monthly ones we have now. It might be fun to catch up with more pregnant buddies Especially if you belong to a more quiet board or if you are on the cusp of estimated due dates. On WB I belonged to a Fall 2012 baby board that was a lot of fun. Let me know what you think in the poll and comments below.

I can see seasonal threads being more useful postpartum than while pregnant, although both my pregnancy threads have been pretty active, so maybe my opinion is skewed.
I think it's helpful during pregnancy that we're all on similar stages and you get to really know the other women in your due date month. But then once the babies start being born, lots of people stop being as active on their due date threads, so having seasonal threads might make more sense. The March 2013 boards decided to switch their thread to a Spring 2013 one to be more inclusive since some of those months weren't that active once the babies were here!

I wanted to make a Winter 2014 babies thread a while back but it's an awkward time. Winter 2013/2014 or first quarter of 2014? I couldn't quite figure it out so I abandoned it.

I feel like once the babies are Born and maybe 3-6 months it's be helpful to combine.

@Adira: your December thread is crazy hopping though! Some months just don't get that many bfps. November 2014 and March 2015 you can hear crickets. I never had issue with relating to moms on the fall board and I was due at the very beginning.

@Danizaur: I probably would have just gone with winter 2013/2014 but there are only technically 10 days or so of winter in December anyway so perhaps going with the latter year maybe.

@MrsMccarthy: is there more action in the FB group? I know people want an increasing amount of privacy but taking the action away from HB is going to decrease the posting here.

We do have a lot more action in our March 2015 Facebook group, but personally I would love a seasonal group. I'm due at the very end of the month and have a feeling I will have an April baby, but I don't know any of the April moms to be! It would be nice to get to know more people

I'm so so glad we have our Spring 2013 group because my February 2013 group wasn't too active, so I like the idea of seasonal groups. I think our Spring group includes Feb/March/April 2013, and it's been nice getting to know more mama's through it!

I agree that seasonal boards would be great for after the babies are born, but I like the smaller due date groups. Many moms who are at the very beginning or end of a month already choose to check in with the following or preceding month if they want a connection to both months, so I don't think there's a big seasonal need for pregnancy.

@Kemma: I don't think it's just that because I belonged to more active boards whilst having FB pages. Perhaps just a more private and less active group. I love our group so much but I do wish we were a bit more active sometimes. Facebook is a bit more jumping.
@marionberry: that makes sense except for people who have smaller less active groups. I don't think it's a huge deal or anything but sometimes I wish my group were more active and I lurk on a lot of other boards as a result.
Seems kind of 50/50 so far poll wise.

I think it's something that may or may not take off, depending on the pregnant ladies at that time. I was having a June '12 baby and while I liked my June moms, they weren't as active as the May' 12 moms. I tried a summer' 12 board but that didn't go far either. I just jumped in with the may moms and they kindly let me join with the "baby" in the group.

@MrsMccarthy: Do you think your due date board is less active on here because you have a private Facebook group for your month? April doesn't have a FB group and I think it helps that we have nowhere else to go but here if we want to talk or have questions.

I think during pregnancy its easier to relate to a birth month. But after the baby is born to have a seasonal thread.

We did this when I was pregnant. We just had a blanket "Spring 2012" thread... which spanned from February-June. lol

I think it all depends who is in that month as well. Some people are just more active on HB.
