Have any of you ladies experienced seeing stars when you're pregnant? I can't really think of a clearer way to explain it- I literally feel like a cartoon character that got hit on the head or something, they just float around everywhere in my vision. It used to just happen when I was throwing up, but now in my third trimester it can be brought on by coughing hard, bending, etc. I keep forgetting to bring it up at my doctor appointments - a google search says it could be blood pressure related, but mine has always been fine.

Haven't experienced it but from what you describe it sounds like a vasovagal syncope.

I agree...it may be a (transient, low) blood pressure phenomenon. Might talk with your dr. next time, just to get their opinion.

@FliegepilzHut: I have a non-stress test on Friday (for gestational diabetes) and a non-stress test plus an OB appointment on Tuesday, I'll make a note in my phone to ask about it! Don't know how I keep managing to forget, I guess I get so caught up in thinking about the NST that I forget.

I had this during pregnancy and my bp was always fine. Never knew what caused it but in my case it turned out to be nothing. Hope it's the same for you!

I have occasionally had this, both last pregnancy and this one- like little gold lights flashing. For me it lasts usually just a few seconds (10-20) and most often in the shower. (Heat related?)

@wonderstruck: I had mentioned it to dh and he was so worried! Google didn't make me feel better. But there was no major issue. In the end, I chalked it up to one more thing my body did to mess with me while pregnant lol

I had low blood pressure and had this occur during my pregnancies too.

I have definitely had this on occasion, more so with this pregnancy than with my first. I mentioned it to my OB with my first and she never seemed concerned, so I am not worrying about it too much this time as long as it doesn't get to be too common.

I had this when I had sudden spikes in my blood pressure, I could see stars and get dizzy.

I had this with high BP. I'd definitively mention it to your dr, mine started having me take my BP at home and it was always really high when it'd happen. =\

I had a few spells during my first pregnancy. My OB sent me to the eye dr who said it was just hormones!

I had a few spells when my BP spiked too. I ended up buying a blood pressure cuff for home to be safe. I mentioned it to my doctor and they told me to just take it easy (ha).

I had this all the time in my first trimester but it has gotten a lot better. It was always when i stood up quickly, got too hot, or exerted myself. It scared me at first but i learned to manage it. A lot of times everything would go black for just a few seconds afterward. My ob said it could be blood pressure related (my blood pressure is on the low side when i am not pregnant and pregnancy lowers it for me...so this seems like a good explanation to me). Definitely talk to your ob if you are worried, but mine wasn't concerned at all.

My blood pressure was really low during my pregnancy and I would get this all the time. Especially on a train full of people and felt like I would pass out.

I had/have low blood pressure during both my pregnancies and I see the stars you are talking about. I also saw them for awhile during the postpartum weeks after my first pregnancy when my BP was still low.

Mine were dark. It freaked me out (I believe it *could* be an indication of preeclampsia), but my midwives monitored it, and didn't seem concerned. I had low blood pressure, and they think it was due to that.

This used to happen to me If I twisted or moved in a certain way. It was disorienting but it never amounted to anything.

I had regular blood pressure but it happened to me all the time in the shower.

Happened all the time for me. After the shower, while getting dressed, doing stairs. It was so annoying. My blood pressure was normal and the doctor couldn't find anything wrong. She figured it was hormone related and it went away as soon as I gave birth.

This has been happening to me a lot lately! Last week my blood pressure was fine but if it gets worse, I'll be sure to ask my OB.

I get super lightheaded sometimes and feel like this. I had it the first time around, too.

This happened a lotto me in the 3rd tri. It ended up being nothing, but that's not saying you shouldn't bring it up to your doc anyway!
