DH and I are throwing our best friends an engagement party next month. We're planning to make sangria by the gallon as one of the alcoholic beverages.
So, share your best red sangria recipe!! Preferably one that is easily made for 20-30 people.

This is my go to, and it's always a hit. {I don't add the simple syrup because I'm lazy.}

Here's my favorite recipe, after a LOT of trial and error - but be warned, it makes THREE gallons! (all liquor bottles reflect 750ml)
6 bottles red wine - we usually do some shiraz and some cab sav
1 bottle of ruby port
1/2 bottle of blackberry brandy
1/2 bottle triple sec
1 60oz bottle of 100%juice cran raspberry juice
1 large can (46oz, I think) of pineapple juice
2 oranges, sliced thinly
2 limes, sliced thinly
2 bags frozen mixed berries (sorry, no ideas on size, just average sized I guess)
Mix all ingredients together and refridgerate overnight (I use two large pasta pots!). Serve "straight up" or cut in half with unflavored seltzer - it can be pretty strong!
Now I want sangria...

Thanks! I'm thinking sangria Mondays now, haha!
@Rocker2014: does the frozen berries versus fresh make a difference?

Okay, if you want to make it SUPER DUPER simple---red wine and limeade, mixed to taste! I use organic limeade with no added sugar, because I don't like stuff like that too sweet. But, once you've made it, you can just throw in whatever fruit you want. It's crazy delish and so easy.

@sunshineandsushi: It seems to help them stay together better, otherwise the raspberries and blueberries seem to desintegrate pretty quickly. But if its consumed 24 hours you'd probably be fine either way

@Rocker2014: um, yum! I made this recipe to test it out in advance of our party (I halved the recipe). Verdict is DELISH! Now I just have to worry about drinking it all before it goes bad. how long does sangria stay good for ....?

Mine is pretty simple but always gets raves.
2 magnums of red wine (the big bottles)
1/2 gallon of cran-grape juice
2 cups of peach puree (either blend frozen peaches or use fresh when in season)
Juice of one lemon, one lime, and one orange (leave used peels in the punchbowl for flavor)
Sugar to taste
Chopped strawberries and apples
This same recipe can be made into white sangria using a fruity or sweet white wine, like pinot grigio or riesling, with white grape or white grape peach juice. Sometimes I add kiwi or green apple pieces for color contrast. Have made gallons of both for parties and always gets great reviews.

@sunshineandsushi: Yay! I'm glad you liked it! And I've kept drinking it for a week (refrigerated ) without issues...but it only lasted that long once! I did always want to try freezing a bit of it and seeing what happens - sangria slush? Granita?
