If you had a baby shower, how long did it take you to finish your thank you cards? My shower was 3 weeks ago and I haven't started yet! I really want them done before LO arrives but I have been procrastinating and having wrist pain!

Not pregnant yet, but I have a friend who has a 7 week old baby and I have yet to see a thank you card from the shower that was over the summer.

haven't had my shower yet, but maybe until before the baby's born? i'm guessing it's not like marriage - where i think you have a year?
or maybe if you want to get creative, you can send it after the baby is born with an announcement pic and a thank you note on the back.... which is something i may do. i like to personalize things because i always throw out those thank you cards, unless there's a pic on it.

I would say the sooner the better. You're going to have a lot less time once the baby arrives!

No shower for me yet, but I thought I'd mention two extremes I have heard of lately:
Went to a shower on Friday night for someone from work. Thursday was the mama-to-be's first day back at our work and she came in with all the cards done, and a big tray of various goodies for us to eat!
On Facebook one of my friends had a status message that said that she was cleaning out her desk and found her baby shower thank-you cards: all filled out but not sent. Baby is over a year old. She said it must have been some very bad pregnancy
brain.

Etiquette says 2-4 weeks for all other thank you cards not tied to a wedding. So get on it girl! However, I personally understand a delayed baby shower card then a wedding. It's not like most brides are spending weeks after their wedding moving in anymore, where I could see being at the end of your pregnancy being a better reason then just ladidaing after a wedding.

Woo hooo, I finished my 31 cards last night and sent them off this morning. I NEED to get address labels or address stamp for next time!

I did them right away, but I'm weird like that.
I do recommend keeping everything you need for thank yous somewhere handy for after the baby comes. I always wrote notes as I got gifts so I didn't ever have that overwhelming pile to do.

I sent my thank you cards out right away.. probably a couple days after my shower.
I like getting things done in advance. I've already sent out my Christmas cards and presents have been ordered and shipped as well.

I took a long time with our wedding ty cards, 3 months, so I'm planning on getting baby shower cards done the week after... that way no one is waiting for them and I'll have it done and out of the way. I realized that it just got harder and harder to finish the wedding ty cards as time went by...
