I'd just wait until they more than hint - ie, they directly say "hey, are you having a shower?" or "are you registered anywhere?" before sharing a link or the name of a store where you are registered yourself.

Since it sounds like you're not close enough with their wives/girlfriends (or they don't have them) to invite them to your shower, I do think it'd be awkward to have your hostess send them registry links, but no shower invite.

@stiletto_mom: If they've got sisters, cousins, other female friends, they may have figured out how it works and look on their own. Google makes everything possible.

I suppose the flip side one could argue is that guys don't understand shower etiquette anyway, so sending them a link or just saying "Oh I'm not sure what's happening with a shower, but I'm registering at Buy Buy Baby and Target" the next time the topic is hinted at wouldn't offend them.

If you are close with them, why not just be direct? Tell them that your girlfriends are throwing you a shower and you aren't responsible for the guest list, but it might be traditional. And then just tell them where you are registered.
