My top boys name middle name is Merlin. That was my grandpas name. I didn't receive any silly suggestions, mine were always sillier I guess

My family keeps suggesting the worst names. I honestly thought they were joking at first. Two that I've received MORE THAN ONCE: Abner and Roscoe.

I know a 10 month old roscoe and he is the loveliest little boy, and his name actually suits him so well!

My niece thought her little sister should be called baby CN tower (they live in Toronto, obviously!)

My DH suggested Ethelfrith every time we had a name conversation. He said he was joking but it was every single time.

My MIL, in all seriousness, suggested Cybil. Cybil!!

@Mrs.Someone: There are 63 Vanellopes?!?!?! I'm not even quite sure how I would say that one... haha

So many Prims because of Hunger Games, and I'm guessing so many Rebelles because of Rebel Wilson?? Rarity from My Little Pony? Haha

It wasn't a silly name (Meridith) but FIL only suggested it because it was the name of the woman who won a local marathon by accident. She signed up for the half, and missed her turn so ended up running and winning the full 26.2. It was her very first time ever running that far. Needless to say FIL is a marathoner

Before we knew we were having a girl, my husband constantly suggested Nebuchadnezzar (Biblical king in the old testament). He always said he was joking, but I am very glad we're having a girl so that "joke" is off the table now!

When DH told a good friend of his (who is named Kurt) about the pregnancy the conversation went something like this:

Kurt: Of course you'll be naming the baby Kurt.
DH: Actually, we're having a girl.
Kurt: Don't care. Her name is Kurt.

Over the course of the evening, Kurt developed into Kurtressa. So apparently now our daughter will be named Kurtressa.
