So I have been craving something to knit for a while, and have been wanting to make a new blanket for some time. Any other knitters out there have any pattern suggestions (free or paid makes no difference to me)?

Two baby blankets I really enjoyed knitting are Twin Leaf (free at http://paintinglilies.com/knitting/twin-leaf-baby-blanket-2/ but I think you have to join her email list or something to get it? At any rate, I've never gotten spam from her, or any other emails for that matter) and Umaro ($6 at http://brooklyntweed.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_4&products_id=36). If you want something bigger, you can just add extra pattern repeats to the width and increase the length.
Are you on Ravelry? They have an amazing pattern database you can search by multiple criteria.

@PurplePeony: I am on Ravelry and I actually love the Umaro pattern, I just haven't tried it yet. Actually I had forgotten that I bought it until you mentioned it. I do have a bit of knitting ADD, and I have many partial projects at home!
