C's room is the coldest in the house, and lately we have to have the heat up to an uncomfortable level everywhere else just to have it be not really cold in her room. So, inspired by mrs. Bees post, I think we need a space heater in there.

However her room is very small and doesn't have a lot of space for anything, so I'm wondering what safety precautions I need to watch for and where I can safely position on in there. My friend has hers on a shelf across from the crib, is that ok?

There is almost no floor space so it has to be up on something or smack dab in the center of the room.

Also if you have one do you just turn it on for naps and bedtime or do you run it more constantly? We pretty much only go into her room for changes and bed/nap time.
