A had her specialist appointment today and he scheduled her for a procedure on January 21st. I'm a little overwhelmed so I will explain it as I know best. She will go in to the children's hospital and they will put her under. The surgeon will put a dye in her so he can take a better look at her hips and how they are functioning. If he feels it's needed at that point, he will put her in a cast from her chest to her ankles. He mentioned maybe having to cut a tendon or something but I honestly can't remember. I asked what the chances of her actually needing to be casted were, and he said 50/50. They gave me tons of information about spica casts and care and they are getting us a Hippo car seat since she can't sit in a regular car seat. They told us about getting different booster seats to eat in along with getting bigger diapers since she would need to wear two at a time. I don't plan on buying anything until after her surgery in case she doesn't need to be in a cast but I will definitely be looking into it all. She will most likely have to stay the night at the hospital to keep an eye on her after anesthesia, but thankfully we can stay with her. I'm pretty overwhelmed but making the best of it, and taking it day by day.
