When you get a gift card do you use it? Or lose it? Or perhaps re-gift it? Or does it just sit in your wallet?

I...don't understand the concept of having a gift card and not using it. I guess if I really really couldn't use it, I'd regift or sell but... free money!

I tend to hold on to them for a while and wait to use it for something that is really wanted/needed.
The danger in that is that they will get lost, though...I somehow managed to lose a manila envelope that still had some of our wedding gift cards in there. I *know* that there are a few to bed, bath, and beyond and another few for Macy's, probably totaling $400 or so. I am REALLY mad at myself for losing it!!

If it's not something I can spend online I tend to forget about them and then they sit in my drawer forever.

I voted spend but I know we have a few lingering in our house that we keep forgetting to use. Two are to restaurants that require a babysitter though.

I usually hang on to them for something special. I usually eventually use them, some just take longer to use than others.

I have a gift card to Crate and Barrel that's been in my wallet for six years.
They won't accept American gift cards at their Canadian locations and it's not a priority stop when we visit.
I find gift cards annoying.

I mostly spend them. I actually love gift cards - it's like cash you can't put towards bills, so you have to spend it, haha.
Sometimes I do save them, though, if they are to a nice place I wouldn't go to otherwise, so I want to use them on something I really want/need.

I'm not a huge fan of GCs. Typically I receive them for very specific stores or places that I don't frequent. One year I received an AMC movie theatre GC and all my local theatres were Regal. I think I had that in my wallet for 4-5 years and was able to use it when I was in a different state.
Right now I am trying hard to spend almost $200 at Babies R Us. When we bought LO his exersaucer I may have said an expletive when Babies R Us search did not turn up the one we wanted.

Definitely spend them! If we don't have a use for them we try to sell or will re-gift if there is someone who would actually use them.

Spend, unless it's to a store I really just won't use then I'll re-gift most likely.

I spend as soon as I get a chance, but my husband hoards them. It annoys me. Just use it already!

I usually hold onto them for quite a while and then use them randomly. Usually when I get them, I think oh I'm going to save this for something really awesome/special/just for me... and then I end up using them on something boring/practical.
