Spending the day (possible night) at hospital, what to bring?

Tuesday is A's procedure and we are trying to make a list of things we will need to bring for DH and I. They are not sure if we will have to spend the night or not, but we will be there a good solid day at the very least. So far I was thinking:
Pillows
Change of clothes
Toiletries
Phone chargers
Snacks
Cash for meals for DH and I

What else should we make sure we have? I think I am all set as far as what to bring for A, they will provide just about everything she would need besides her comfort items anyway.

Books, magazines, ipad/kindle! Also cards for you and DH or like soduku books or something. And/or if you knit or crochet that is good stuff to bring.

Phone chargers. Eta: doh I'm a doof and didn't see u already had that on your list. lol maybe blankets and sweaters? I know hospitals can be cold sometimes.

Ipad with netflix? This was a lifesaver for us during E's procedures to keep us busy & not worrying.

@LuLu Mom: we don't have iPads...I have an old bulky laptop that would not be fun to lug around! I wish we had one though!

@Bao: ick! I took my eye mask to the hospital, but it's a bit of an addiction to me. And I don't know how much sleep you are actually planning on!

As I am sitting in the hospital right now I can't recommend a large water bottle more strongly. Also ChapStick and lotion, hospitals are so dry

@Ms.Badger: hugs friend BTW we need to revive the May thread....1st birthdays will be here in the blink of an eye. I am both happy and sad thinking about it. Hope baby Badger is doing well!

@jedeve: @Kimberlybee: minor rejection. Dr.s aren't worried. In the middle of a 7 day steroid pulse which leaves LB very cranky and keeps him awake but liver function is improving so it seems to working. Hopefully home Sunday. I'm happy its not serious but am so tired and over the hospital

@Bao: Definitely what @Ms.Badger said. Chapstick, lotion, and maybe some socks. I was always insanely hot during our hospital stays though.
I don't know about your procedure, but I loved having my ergo around for when my son was NPO and needed to be cuddled all the time. It saved my back.

@LittleGBee: well there is a good chance she will be in a cast from chest to ankles so that wouldn't work...no ergo either. Lol! Good idea though

Slippers! It's so awkward sleeping in shoes, and people will be in and out of the room throughout the night, awkward to be barefoot.

@Ms.Badger: sorry to hear he's back in the hospital, hope he can come home soon! DS2 yanked his central line out the other day and I thought about telling you because I knew you'd understand how nuts that was!

Do you sleep with anything? Sound machine for A? I sleep with a fan, need the noise. I forgot to pack mine when we were there to have R. And it made the little sleep I got even less.

@beaker: aw! Was it a picc? LB luckily has a broviac so less chance it will get pulled out for the next 2 months we need to keep it. I am terrified the line will break!

hmm..can you stream netflix on your phone? maybe a small speaker that would plug into the AUX, or earphones? I have several splitters so you both could listen if you have 2 sets of earphones, I may be able to mail it in time!

sudoku, crossword, coloring books and crayons. sounds strange but coloring totally helps me zen out. kindle just in case - read anything to get your mind off it, if you can focus.

I took comfort items, crayons, coloring books, blank paper and stickers to the hospital when LO was there in November.

@Smurfette: We all sleep with fans, but I don't think bringing our big fans would work shoot...need to figure that out. @sorrycharlie: Great idea! I think DH has something like that, I will ask him!

@Bao: I'm not sure about the setup of the room, but a lot of parents in our area actually bring a single blow up mattress so they don't have to sleep on the cots (especially 2nd time dads who are wise to the crappy sleeping scene for non-patients). Depends on if you'll have a private or shared room though.
