I'm all for uniqueness and finding a name is hard in itself, but now, with all the social media etc, I would NOT want a star to give birth and name their child one of my childs name.
I would piss me off (but clearly I have no control over that) because then it will eventually become a popular name (depends on the star)

LO's name is fairly traditional and usually hovers around the top ten names. I don't feel the need for LO to have a 'unique' or special name, LO is unique and special in their own right. Plus our surname is uncommon so first name needed to be straightforward or LO would sound like a circus act.

It is funny because all of our favorite names have been used by celebrities this year.
our boys name favorites were Maxwell and Luca, both used by celebrities recently,
and our favorite girls names were Ivy and Willa, both used by celebrities this year.

If I really dislike the celebrity it would probably irk me to know we had the same taste in names but otherwise I wouldn't care about this at all.

I wouldn't mind. I think I would be flattered if others loved my LO's name as much as I do. I picked it because I love it, not because other people do or don't.

It would bother me if I picked a unique name, for example Suri and then they happend to name their daughter the same thing.

It bothers me more with people I know. Someone named their kid the same first name as ours and he was born a little less than 2 months before our LO. Another person had a baby a month after us and named him the same first and middle name. It really sucks, but not much we can do about it I guess. Luckily they likely won't go to the same school at least.

It would have to depend on the star! Someone like Snooki I would be pissed but someone classier like Sandra Bullock I wouldn't be as upset about!

And I should say that with our first daughter, Pam's baby on the office was given the same name within the same week. That was kind of a bummer because people thought we chose based on that. Grumpy face!

DH and I both have unique names, so we've been trying to find unique (but hopefully not just plain weird) names for our lists. If a celebrity came up with the same name, I think I'd be bothered, but not *upset* unless I didn't like the celebrity.
If someone I knew used the same name after we did, I would definitely be upset.

@highwire: I agree some stars are intense with the names but Luca is one that recently has been chosen by Hilary Duff.
I think if you go with a common name then ya, no big deal but when you try to find something more original (that very few people know people named like that, having a star name their child the same only ups the popularity)
@Boogs: I agree about that too. Hate when people name their kids the same. Luckily it hasn't happened to us and I doubt it will (seeing most peeps are French and they aren't attracted to Mavrick or Sienna)
