My LO has always been is a good eater and night time sleeper, but not a good napper. Do you have the golden trifecta? How old is your LO? My daughter is 22 months.

charlie used to be a good night time sleeper and napper, but the past two months he's been waking up early and at inconsistent times. he is still a master napper and we usually have to wake him up from every nap after 4 hours. eating..... he is not a fan. but sadly i'd rather have a good sleeper than a good eater!

LO is 7 months and before we went on vacation she had the trifecta. Now, post-vacation, her naps are perfect, eating is perfect, but we're getting back to the night-sleeping.

@Mrs. Bee: do you think charlie would sleep more at night if you limited his naps?
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@Andrea: he sleeps pretty well at nights. most of the time 8:30-6:00am. before it was 7:30-7:30 and it was glorious!
during the week his naps are limited because he's in daycare. on the weekends we let him sleep in. having shorter naps doesn't seem to affect his night sleep. when he was sleeping 12 hours straight, we were letting him nap 3+ hours then too.

LO has never been a good napper. But she's always slept 12 hours at night (since 2 1/2 months at least) and lately she sleeps even longer! And she's a good eater.
She's 7 months.

Can you have the imperfect trifecta? lol LO (10 months) is not a good sleeper, napper or eater (solids, nurses like a champ)....we are slowly working on things.

My son had the golden trifecta between 6.5 months (this was when we sleep trained) until almost two years. It was awesome! We were so spoiled. He still sleeps and naps pretty well but feeding him is such a chore now.

@Mrs. Bee: yeah, i agree that naps don't seem to affect my LO's night time sleep either. those days of 12 hrs at night plus 3 hrs of naps were great. i miss it!
@anbanan15: oh no! which one are you working on first?

Yep. We got lucky. Nothing to do with our parenting, LO is just good for all through. LO started sleeping through the night at 3 weeks 6 days and has ever since -now is 10 months.

Kinda? He eats everything we give him, naps 1.5-2 hours a stretch (but does occasionally fight them initially), and sleeps 11-12 hours with 1-2 wake ups.

Does it count as sleeping through the night even if LO wakes up 1-2 times to nurse? I always get confused on if it is straight thru or includes night feedings.
LO (knock on wood) started sleeping well at night at around 3 weeks, from around 8:30-7:30 with 2 wakings to nurse. She nurses like a champ but naps have been challenging. She napped really well the first few weeks but now it's a struggle to get her down and she will often wake up crying after only 30-45 minutes so I've recruited the swing for the early day naps. Late day naps she will do in the crib.

Haha, I have a good eater and napper. Night time sleeping through the night is hit or miss. I can count on one hand the amount of nights we've had undisturbed.
I'll take a poor sleeper over a poor eater though.

@ElisaT: it depends on the age of your LO which is why i asked for ages since these things vary so much depending on the stage of life. glad to hear that things are going well!
@looch: does your LO wake up to eat at night?
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@Andrea: Nope, he usually gets into a position where he can't lay down again or he's lost his pacifier. He's slept through the last three nights, so let's see what happens going forward. He also only sleeps from btwn 7/7:30 and 5:30 am. I can set my watch to him, we don't need an alarm in the mornings.

@looch: wow, good going on the last 3 nights, though! you must be feeling well rested.

@Andrea: thanks! I always think we're turning a corner, but we never seem too! Oh well!
