I don't know how else to describe it. All day today, I've had stabbing pains in the bottom part of my left breast. It feels like someone is sticking a needle in to me, over and over.
Any idea what could be causing this? DH is worried it's my heart, but I swear it's in my breast, not behind it. I'm 21 weeks pregnant.

I had this and in the beginning of the first trimester. I chalked it up to them growing... but I'm no expert about breast anatomy and changes in pregnancy!

I had stabbing pains too. Not sure why though. Figured it had to do with growth and colostrum production.

Yup I've had stabbing boob pain come and go throughout my pregnancy.

I've gotten this from time to time too. It hurts! I don't have any ideas on how to help it though.

I know exactly what it is! I had it too and it started around that time in my pregnancy...I still have some even 3w after delivery.
It's inflammation. Ask your OB about it. It's beneath the breast, apparently where rib meets breast bone...and they are now rubbing against each other from the pregnancy.
It;s called Costochondritis. And basically some Tylenol will solve it and it should go away soon after delivery. I still feel mine on occasion.

I had that type of pain just before I started leaking colostrum. I swear it was my breast tissue kicking into gear, because I had a similar pain just before my milk came on on day 3-4 post partum as well.

I also had, and I almost forgot about it until now. I just figured it had something to so with my usually flat chest expanding and my body being totally confused, but I'm glad to hear the "official" reason, thanks @TurtleDoves!
