I just had labs done yesterday to check for a B12 deficiency!
If there was more scientific evidence I may say there was a relation. I was a strict vegetarian for many years prior to learning I was pregnant. I started eating meat during my pregnancy (mainly beef and pork), although I was told I didn't have to. A few months after DS was born I had to go on a very strict vegan diet with my only source f protein being quinoa due to his allergies and he has a mainly vegan diet now. Overall he was an extremely colicky baby, even after removing the foods that he was allergic/intolerant to.

@googly-eyes: it's interesting, but I wish they would have said how MUCH B-12. B-12 was in my pre-natals and I took extra B-complex (both 6 and 12) for my morning sickness, which didn't help me at all....but it would be nice if there were a payoff from all that B complex later.

Interesting. I had huge beef cravings while pregnant and ate a lot of steak and other beef dishes throughout my pregnancy. LO is a fairly chill baby who slept a lot in the first 6 weeks.

I ate more beef in the first trimester than I probably had in the last year, but I kind of assumed my body just needed extra protein and iron. Sure would be nice if it means a more chill baby while I'm at it, but I'm not holding my breath.
