TMI!!!!!!
I'm 34 weeks pregnant and still breastfeeding.
Every time I nurse LO, after 5 minutes or so I get this queasy feeling in my stomach and lots of pressure in my bum, like I have to go #2 really badly.
When I am done nursing I go I the bathroom, but I never actually have to go. I just get that feeling (intense cramping, bum pressure) while nursing.
Could this mean anything? Could they be contractions? I was induced with LO so I have no idea what "natural" contractions or labor feel like.

I'm guessing that its your uterus contracting. That's how I felt in the early days of BFing...when it would induce contractions to tighten your uterus after birth. Now that I think about it my OB asked me at my last appt if I was still nursing because it causes contractions. He said he had a patient who kept going to L&D because she was having contractions but they'd almost immediately go away. It took them forever to figure out that it was because she was nursing her other LO!

@Running Elley: oh interesting. If they are contractions, they go away as soon as I am done nursing. So nothing that would send me to L&D! Is it normal for contractions to make you feel like you are going to poop your pants?

That totally happened to me right after giving birth. Almost period Cramp like. My LC also told me it was my uterus contracting. Went away after a couple days of nursing! Not sure what that means for you as you're still nursing though.

I also think it sounds like contractions. Mine felt like that when they were really big ones

I would think so too, especially since nipple stimulation and pumping can.both be labor inducing. Kudos to you for nursing this whole time that's pretty awesome!!

It sounds like a contraction. I had cramps / uterus contractions in early days of bf.

It sounds like your uterus is contracting from nursing and also sounds like you're producing colostrum.

I believe I remember reading that nursing causes your uterus to contract, which is one of the reasons it is recommended after giving birth. So, it sounds like maybe it is some sort of contraction for you?

Yup, definitely sounds like contractions. But as long as they go away as soon as you finish nursing I wouldn't worry about it.

Yep. I thought I had to poop. Meanwhile, I was 6cm dilated. So, that feeling is a contraction! But since they go away, you're probably just fine.

Also i would call your doc since you are high risk and on bed rest!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: def contractions. That's why nipple stimulation is recommended as one of the natural ways to start labor. It releases oxytocin, I think?
