How did you make it through the sick times of your first trimester with another LO to take care of? I feel bad sometimes when I just need to lay down and DS is playing by himself for awhile.
Any tips?

Haven't been thru it myself, but I'd do the same! Let the lo play by himself while u take a break!

I just let LO play and also started letting him watch a little Sesame Street. DH also helped out a ton when he was home!

I'd love to know! I'm just on my first LO right now, but my "morning" sickness was SO BAD for so long, I've long wondered how I'll ever have a #2 if I still have to take care of #1!

Around here it was pretty unpleasant. I think maybe it's some biological way of making sure that you have to ignore the oldest(s) enough to prepare them somewhat for life after baby. Probably not. But I just had to accept that my parenting wasn't going to look the way I wanted it to until I felt better. She watched more TV than I have ever allowed before or since. She did lots of activities while I was laying on the floor. You will (both/all) make it through!

I'm going through this right now. The morning sickness hasn't been that bad, but since I didn't have any with my first, it's hard to deal with. I have explained to DS (who is 28 months) that mama has something in her belly making her a little sick so sometimes I have to lay down or I can't play. He seems to get it. Occasionally if I really need some rest and just can't give him attention I bring him into bed with me and let him watch videos on the iPad. So we can cuddle little and he gets to do something fun. Like @mrs. Twine, I also lay down on the floor sometimes while LO plays around me. DH has also been really great about taking over when he is home.

I'm a WOHM, so most of the time I'm home with LO, DH is too and he practically single-parented LO for several weeks when my nausea was at its worst. My parents would also take LO for a night or an afternoon or an evening here and there.
Also, LO has never really watched TV, but there have definitely been a few mornings when DH has left early, I'm in charge of getting LO to school, and I throw on some Sesame street for 10-15 so I can go puke in peace.

I had HORRIBLE morning sickness (all day sickness is more like it) with both pregnancies. There were times when I would just let my son play on his own or let him watch some TV. There was no way I could keep him entertained while I was puking 10 times a day. You just have to do what you can. TV, snacks, independent play. They're all good in my book!

TV! Thank goodness for TV. Throw on a show and take a 20 min nap. That's what I did when I really needed some rest.

The pregnancy I've had, I keep thinking how I don't know if I could do it with a LO around. Do whatever you need to, IMHO!!! It's hard and all pregnant mommas with LO's need an award!

When I was home I took naps when she did. Sometimes I'd lay down in her room and shut the door and give her coloring books or blocks or some activity. We spent a lot of time outside, our yard is fenced in so I could just do some easy outdoor work and she entertains herself easily when we're outside, good luck!
