I have no issue running errands on weekends in my sweats!

I don't mind sweats. I cannot stand people in pj pants in public, though. At LEAST they can put on sweats.

I often walk my dogs in sweatpants/yoga pants, or sometimes run errands on my way to or from the gym in yoga pants. But otherwise, I generally put on jeans. But jeans and a sweatshirt are totally acceptable!

depends on what kind of sweatpants we are talking about... cute, well fitting, looks decent - yeah, totally fine. gross, saggy butt, ones... noooo.

And yoga pants are fine too unless they are see through!! (same goes for leggings.)

DH thinks that I am a little batty (and maybe I am) but I will change out of my sweats before leaving the house for any reason. This includes walking to the curb to get the mail. I think the last time I went out of the house in my sweats is when I was in labor with N. I wore my maternity jeans home.....

I don't own sweats, but I have Adidas pants and yoga pants that I'll sometimes wear to the grocery store if I'm running over real quick. Otherwise I'll just toss on a pair of jeans.

Nope. I put on jeans. I think I have worn yoga pants to the pharmacy in the middle of the night. But usually, I just pull on some jeans and go.

You're doing yourself a favor by not wearing sweatpants to school!

No one should ever wear them.
I threw mine away after college (even then I only wore them at home). When I want to bum around, I wear yoga pants (all black, no zebra print!).

My granny told me once to never leave the house in sweats. I try hard to stick to that and at least put on a nice pair of jeans and a tshirt when running errands. But some days, you just gotta skip the makeup and put on some stretchy pants.

I have a collection of Victoria's Secret sweats and yoga pants so my sweats aren't raggedy or anything. They still look pretty.

I'm okay with sweatpants in public given the place you're wearing it to is appropriate. Like running errands - sure! Going out to eat at a nicer restaurant or attending graduation, not so much.

Depends on where you are. For me school is a no. Grocery store, errands, walking dogs are a definite yes.

When I hear sweatpants, I think of long, baggy ones that have elastic at the bottom, and some school logo printed on them. I hate them. I have seem some cute, shorter ones that I might feel okay with for running an errand here or there.

I wear yoga/sweat pants out occasionally but usually if I'm just running into the store to get milk or something. I will wear them to run to the bank bc I use the drive through, or if I'm going to hang out at my moms house for the day. 9 times out of 10 though I throw jeans on before leaving.

I think fitted, cute yoga pants are fine, and I live in them on weekends and after work! I try to make it look like a somewhat put together outfit, though-- like black yoga pants or leggings with a fitted long tank and a zip up or drapey cardigan... with my hair either down or in a pony, and a little makeup. That's how I justify going out in loungey outfits without being too sloppy!

Yoga pants yes, sweats no.

@Mrs. Pen: I wore sweats on campus, too! You could literally roll out of bed and go to class.

My 18 year old self thought this was trendy. My 29 year old self can't wear sweats in public & wonders why i wore sweats to class!

I'm picturing in my head my Target bright purple sweats that are fitted and rolled to mid-calf... I don't see much of a difference between yoga pants and sweats really.

Well in all fairness, denim used to be considered work wear (and I don't mean office, I mean factory, farming, heavy labor)!
