I think you just start telling people you're undecided and then announce when she's born. People don't really need to know beforehand.

But, yeah, I really like Elliott on a girl. I think its cute.

If she's not here yet, I think you have every right to change it up! People keep asking me our LOs name and I say, "as of now, it is ___ but it could change"

Yeah I would just say you now aren't sure and wait awhile to share again

A friend of mine was going to name her girl Elliott. I think it's a cute name. Who cares what others think? You have a right to be indecisive - it's a big decision!

You can totally change it! I would probably not commit to Elliot right now, just say something along the lines of "Thanks for the support! We are not set on the name so don't be surprised if it changes!"

I think it's great!! It's special that you thought of her as baby Elliot. I don't think she'll think you wished she was a boy.

I don't think it's a big deal to change your mind. Just next time people bring up the name or call her Nora, say you changed your mind and you're still finalizing a name.

I wouldn't hesitate to switch, though I wouldn't rush into announcing the new name. I would just tell people (next time it comes up or they mention Nora) that you are reconsidering. I have had several friends/family members do this, and I never really thought twice about it.

For what it is worth, I love both names! Norah was on my short list, and I love Elliot(t) for a boy OR girl. I tried really hard to convince my husband to give LO a name that could be shortened to Ellie.

Elliot is a great name.

I say it is fine to change it! Also, I know at least one bee with a girl named Elliott. It is a great girl name!

It reminds me of scrubs! That was my first association. My second was Stabler from law and order SVU-- ie I watch too much TV. I think it works either way.

I think you should us the name you love and feels right for your sweet girl and it that's Elliott - go for it! I doubt anyone will think twice about the name change considering she isn't even here, and if they do, all that matters is what YOU think.
