Switching names a day after announcing?

    Thanks everyone!

It's been a tough day name wise. I joked on facebook this morning that Nora had been kicking me really hard in a, "Mama, I was trying to tell you I was a girl all along!" kind of way, and I got a text from my Mom saying that maybe she just didn't like her name being changed. Then my mother in law came home and said "I've been thinking about it all day, and I really love the name Elliot for a girl... just saying!". And then my husbands aunt texted me the exact same thing!

I'm just feeling like now everyone is sort of pressuring me into naming her Elliot, and I feel like the power is being taken away from me in some way.

@winnibee: yes! We had an ultrasound about a month ago or so (and another two weeks later), and we were told both times he was "for sure" a boy. Well, yeah, "he" is not. "He" has a vagina. We went for a super detailed anatomy scan yesterday and the tech was surprised we were told boy, considering there was absolutely nothing between the legs. She thinks it was a swollen labia that the other tech mistook for a weiner!

Reminds me of Scrubs and my neighbor named her daughter Elliot! Very cute! Go with your gut!

I know a couple female Elliotts.

We were team green, but when I told people that we didn't even have one name in mind for each gender because we wanted to meet her first and see if a name just felt right after being with her a bit, they seemed to be ok with it. We actually took almost a week to declare the official name!
