Are you ready for summer!? My kids (2nd grade) suddenly have a bad case of spring fever. We get out June 13 so 5 weeks to go. How about you?

Yes! I will probably work this summer though because I do early childhood in a state that ranks 46th in regular K-12 teacher pay...
But my job now is driving me crazy with a ton of drama. We get out June 7 (public pre-k program) and I will not be returning! Thankfully, I have another job lined up for the summer and next school year.
DH teaches 2nd grade and his kids are ready to be done too!

I'm a school based SLP. Does that count?
We are in the middle of state testing right now and the poor kiddos have some serious cabin fever. We get out June 10th. I, along with most of the teachers I work with, are counting down they days. I'm sure the kids are too!

We get out June 21 (i teach 2nd too!) It's bittersweet - I love summer and cant wait, but am sort of sad at the thought of not teaching next year (will be on mat leave Sept-Sept). I'm soaking every minute with them!

I'm a school-based behavior therapist. We also get out June 13, and I seriously cannot wait for that day. I love my students, and genuinely enjoy my job, but, at nearly 32 weeks pregnant, I am finding myself way too exhausted to function properly.

2nd grade here too! They are so over school and we are all counting down the days. We get out June 6. 19 more school days!!!

@mrs. 64: My mom's a teacher & I'm ready for her to get off, so we can beach/zoo/shop/etc! Where do you teach?

@Lilteacherbee: Congrats on the new job. Sounds like a change will be good.
@PointeShoesTutus: Yes, that counts!
@Char54: You're so lucky to get to have a year off! But, I understand the bittersweetness. I don't know how I would handle the first day of school if I wasn't teaching!
@Deerylou: That's a demanding job. Hang in there, so close!
@Rubies: Kudos to you with highschoolers! I can't imagine!
@Boopers: Glad to hear mine aren't the only ones. I literally had 3 kids playing tag during math yesterday thinking that I wouldn't notice. Seriously!?
@photojane: about to write on your wall.

@mrs. 64: LOL that sounds about right! It's like rules don't exist this far into the school year.

I student taught this year (career change). My last day was last Monday and my 8th graders were already chomping at the bit to get out of there. I think the last day for our district is June 11th.
Here's to hoping I can find a job for next year!

@rahlyrah: Good luck in the job search! I had a fabulous student teacher this semester and I'm hoping she gets a job at my school! Her last day was last Friday and I'm getting back in the swing of flying solo!

We finished our state ELA and math testing a few weeks ago and these kids are done, done, done! This year is extra stressful though with APPR in New York and being eight months pregnant at this point. I am done as well!!!

We don't get out until June 24th now (stupid Hurricane Sandy!) and I'm so, so ready for it to be sooner. I shouldnt be complaining, because I'm a library media specialist which I think *is* easier than being a teacher, but now that I'm in the 3rd trimester, I'm just done.
Done shelving books. Done wedding books. Done walking around helping kids find things that are right where they should be. lol. I hate librarians like me right now.

I teach 6th grade and we get out in 8.5 days on May 21 at 1:00 pm. I'm ready for summer, but I know about two weeks of summer vacation I'll be ready for the next school year.

My mom is a teacher and that this point she hates all the kids in the entire high school. She teaches seniors and she's like, "I can't believe society considers these people adults!" I guess she's got a bad batch this year!

I jut went back to work this week...so this is probably the most energized I've been at the end if the school year (except for the lack of sleep). But I'm still happy summer is soon. 5 weeks for me.

I'm a Southern Hemisphere teacher and we just had our Autumn break... I can't wait til our Winter break - 11 weeks to go!

I teach high school, and I think I am more ready than the kids! Some of my juniors might drive me royally insane before we are done May 31. Seniors are done next week, and teachers are done June 3. I will be done June 7 because I am teaching a 4 day workshop on the college admissions essay.

Still going until the end of this month. Just finished third quarter report cards...crazy...but I have the best class yet so I don't want the year to end. I tend to say that a lot of years.
