I want to see responses to this as well. When DH and I have children, we are going to be team green for sure!

I didn't go team green the first time because I love all things pink, and I knew if we went neutral and I had a girl I'd be upset. But now that we have all things pink and I got to make my dream girly nursery and dress her in bows and ruffles, I'm letting my hubby have his way for the next one and go team green.

I do think it's smart if you're planning on having more than one child. We have all this pink stuff and if we have a boy next, we'll have to buy everything new. If we went gender neutral we wouldn't have to do that.

We're currently Team Green (25 weeks), and we're still loving it! I've always been a planner, so I expected to find out the gender once we were pregnant... but hubs mentioned that there aren't many great surprises in life anymore. So far, so good-- and I think we've been able to bond with baby just was well (we just call him/her "Baby" when talking to/about him/her).

Plus, it helps me save money because I know I would be buying every little hair boy/toy truck I'd see if I knew the gender.

I would only advise against it if you know that you would be "crushed" if you had a gender you weren't hoping for... better to have 6+ months to prep yourself for a girl/boy if you were hoping for the other rather than finding out on the day.

My husband wants to be on Team Green when we conceive. I'm finally warming up to the idea and gettin excited about it. I figure I can always buy a couple of pink cloth diapers after the baby is born if I have a girl. I already prefer gender neutral nurseries and clothing, so really cloth diapers were holding me up. It's a bit ridiculous.

We went team green with LO. I didn't regret it for an instant. I don't get the idea that finding out the gender makes it easier to plan. Plan what? Maybe the nursery but it's not hard to go neutral there. It's also not as if i'm going to buy a pink stroller because I am having a girl... Or do people do that?? Even clothing is not a hassle. You are given so much after the baby is born and it's hard to stock up too much beforehand as you don't know how big bub is going to be. Anyway, this is just me. I always see the 'i have to plan' and it bugs me. I should also point out that team green is common here, no one I know has found out the sex.

I'm a planner and being uncertain with our second was really, really hard for me... but the thrill when I saw she was a girl after she was born was a huge rush!

I'm a huge planner but I'm not big on pink and Wagon Sr. is not big on blue, so since Wagon Sr. really wanted to be surprised (he pointed out that it was the only thing he could truly experience with me in terms of the pregnancy/birth) we decided to go team green. It was interesting to see how people reacted (some people actually seemed angry!) but now it seems like all of our friends having babies after us are following suit. Seems like it's becoming the trend to not find out (or it was and I never knew!).

We were so excited to find out for this baby!! And now that it's a girl, I'm thinking maybe I will go pink after all

@chopsuey119: hehe... well it helped that I seriously did not prefer a boy or a girl. I thought it would be TORTURE but once we made the decision, I concentrated on team green and was fine. It's a challenge to purchase and set everything up gender neutral. I also had the feeling that it was a boy because he was so active, I was carrying all out front, and I wasn't craving sweets at all. I was actually pretty sure it was a boy and I was right, haha!!!

I'm only about 20 weeks along, so I can't say whether or not I'll end up regretting it (although I can't imagine I will) but I started a thread about this on WB...we're Team Green (or Level II U/S, when we could, in theory, find out is on Wednesday). I've been struggling with it, because I both desperately want to know and don't want to know. I got a lot of great feedback both from bees who and who were Team Green, and why they did it.

Seriously, I have a really hard time grasping the desire to blanket a child in gender roles before she's even old enough to know what "being a girl" means. This thread is making me really want to have a boy so I can paint his nursery pink, just because why not!

@cupcakemama: Victoria Beckham bought a pink stroller, but she had a girl after 3 boys. I agree though, it's not that hard to buy stuff, especially big things, in gender neutral colors.

I also wanted to comment about bonding with the baby...I was only ever team green, so I can't say if I would have bonded better knowing I was carrying a boy rather than waiting until he was born. My mother's intuition led me to know I was having a boy, I didn't need an ultrasound to tell me, lol.
