Both of us wanted to do it, but DH faltered a little with our first. I told him he had to hold out since we were almost at the end!

I initially wanted to be Team Green. As my pregnancy progressed, there were so many times I wanted to know. DH kept me to my word though.

@char54: Oh yes! It was really really hard the last like...6 weeks or so, for both of us...the anticipation was really killer, but I'm glad we waited! I have the moment when DH said "It's a BOY! Honeybee we have a SON!" permanently etched into my memories--it's one of my favorite moments of the whole day.

DH definitely wanted it to be a surprise. At first I was annoyed, but now am so excited we still don't know what we are having in less than a month!

I never even thought team green was an option... I've always wanted to find out. But DH is 100% team green and the more he talked about it, the more I got on board with it. It will be hard though... I'm such a planner!!

I always wanted to be team green, DH didn't see the point and wanted to find out. He would still prefer to find out, but I've pulled the 'I'm carrying it and pushing it out, I get to decide' card. I haven't been able to sway him with the fact that he gets to tell me, but he did agree that it was my call, especially after seeing how hard the first trimester was.

@artbee: that sounds like really good logic! I could see how you could be team green now that you have your pink fill.

I guess my concern is more from a practical standpoint. I have pink stuff, but if #2 were to be a boy, I would want time to plan. Boys names are so hard and we would need a few more clothing pieces.

I wanted to find out the gender of #1 and be Team Green for any babies after that... the hubs though that would make LO #2 and beyond feel bad (like, "You wanted to know what #1 was but not me?!"), so he wanted to be TG for all LOs. HAHA.

We both were on board with being TG, and we both loved it! It was a great experience for me to find out "who" my baby was when he was born and I got to actually meet him. There were a couple times during ultrasounds when I kind of wanted to know, but not enough to actually find out. There's just not much that's a surprise anymore, with pregnancy and babies.

And I think it's more practical, too, because if you, say, find out you're having a girl the first time around, all people will give you is pink and frills. Then if you have a boy after that, you can't (or at least I wouldn't want to) reuse any of that stuff. Everything we have for this baby is gender neutral and I really like it that way.

@T.H.O.U.: we will have a boy and girl name ready. Not even TTC yet and we've already started talking about names. I'll also have gender neutral stuff in newborn and 0-3 months, I'm sure if we have a boy my mom will be happy to go shopping for clothes for him when he's here. My sil was team green so they have lots of gender neutral stuff and I'm hoping theyll just offer hand me downs.
