Carpet in every room except tile in bathrooms and kitchen. I want hardwood!

We have bamboo in all the rooms other than the kitchen & bath which are tile. I loathe the bamboo! I want to love it, but it sucks! It scratches & dents so easily, like a high heel can leave marks thank goodness we are a shoe free house! Maybe we have a bad batch, or it's crappy quality or something, but I would never recommend them after having these floors. I have nothing bad to say about our tile:) but I wouldn't want it outside the rooms that already have it.

Linoleum, carpet, and hardwood. The linoleum is nothing special; unfortunately the previous owners damaged the carpets and hardwood. They never cleaned the carpets (SO GROSS!), and the hardwood is all scratched up from their dog. Ah well. Flooring is on the list of home improvements.
I will say that I am thrilled at the lack of tile in our house, after dealing with the world's nastiest grout in our previous place!

Tile: in the entryway (horrible choice, it's textured off white and shows ALL the dirt), kitchen, and bathrooms. I like it except the previous owners didn't seal the grout and it needs a good cleaning. Also, the grout in the upstairs bath is cracking and needs to be redone.
Carpet: in the upstairs hallway and three of the bedrooms. Mismatched, cheap, and it's Berber so the cats have clawed it all to hell. On the list to be replaced!
Vinyl 'wood' planks/laminate: Love this product from trafficmaster! Available at home depot, water resistant, stands up to the dogs and cats. The first thing I did when I bought the house was to rip out the carpets in the master bedroom and replace them with this. I love hardwood, but with all the claws and accidents this is just easier. And more affordable. And something I could install on my own.

I'm debating this for the living and dining rooms, since it's half the price: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-203239477/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053

Carpet in the bedrooms, family room, play room, and basement. Mix of marble and tile in the bathrooms. Everything else is hardwood. We like everything except for our marble bathrooms but that is for aesthetic reasons.

hardwood everywhere and ceramic in the kitchen and bathrooms.

100+ year old honey colored hardwood everywhere except the bathrooms (tile) and nursery (was carpet, we replaced with new hardwood flooring).

We have hardwoods in every room of the house except for kitchen and bathroom, which are tile. I seriously love having hardwoods...the look, the convenience...everything! I could never live in a house with carpet.

Carpet in the bedrooms. Wood floors everywhere else except our two full baths. 2 baths have laminate flooring, but we're going to have tile put in soon'

We're in the middle of replacing the carpet downstairs with a high quality laminate. My house is currently a disaster zone! We'd have preferred hardwoods, but couldn't justify the cost as we don't see ourselves in the house for that much longer. The laminate is supposed to be super scratch resistant and stand up well to the wear and tear of our two dogs. I guess we'll find out!

@mrs. bird: I don't think you have a bad batch - from our research, bamboo has a reputation for being super soft, unless you pay a gazillion dollars for strand woven bamboo (okay, maybe not a gazillion dollars, but it's definitely more expensive than other types of bamboo floors).

We have ugly, stained carpet everywhere except for the tile in the kitchen and bathrooms.
I hate all of it. I would looooove hardwood floors. We rent, so beggars can't be choosers.

We have carpet right now everywhere except for the kitchen and bathroom. Buuuut we found out a little while ago that under our carpet is beautiful hard wood floor! This fall I think we are ripping the carpets out,

We have carpet and laminate floors. I can't wait to replace it all with hardwood.

Hardwood throughout, except for the bathrooms and kitchen. It's what we dreamed of having and we love it. Way easier for cleaning messes and we don't have to worry about staining carpet or anything.

we live in a rent house-carpet in all rooms, tile in kitchen and bathrooms. would love to have hardwoods one day!!

we live in a mid-century bungalow, so there are honey colored oak floors in every room except the kitchen and bathroom. I absolutely love them!

@mrs. bird: That's actually really common with bamboo flooring.
In our new house we'll have a warm rich tone of laminate throughout. They're Awesome - thick planks and they're about 6' long! The family room will have carpet and so will the hallway outside the bedrooms. All bathrooms have old penny tiles. When we redo them it'll probably be a ceramic or stone tile.
I actually have no desire for hardwood unless they're original to the home

We have brand new frise (s/p?) carpet in the living room and bedrooms, and the rest of the house is tiled. We'll be replacing all of the tile in the house in the next year or two, though, because it wasn't put down correctly when it was installed and is coming up everywhere.

We are getting new floors in the house we close on in a few weeks. All the bedrooms will have a low shag carpet, the bathrooms have time and every other room (living, kitchen, foyer, dining) will be laminate that looks pretty similar to @Mrs. Tricycles . It's individual planks, and dark colored.
We didn't want hardwood either because we actually LIVE in our house and have a big dog and I would be pissed to buy new hardwood and have her mess it up like she did my mothers (sorry, Ma.)

@Mrs. Tricycle: that is really pretty laminate! I will see if I can find a picture. We did engineered hardwood and have been happy with it.
I love ours because of the various tones and te texture of the hand scraped. We have it everywhere except the bedrooms and the bathrooms.
