My toddler had a fit when I took 3 board books away at bath time last night. Non stop screaming for 20 minutes! I think her bath book bores her?!

Lol, last night E dropped his bowl with a bit of yogurt left in it at my legs (I don't think he was aiming for my legs, but I didn't move them in time...my poor yoga pant were painted!) and then immediately started wailing because he didn't have the yogurt anymore.

@autumnlove: LO loves her bath books! she carries them all over the house. and in her bed. so strange.
she hasn't had a full blown tantrum yet today (thank god) but she did yesterday when she was overtired and I was trying to "make" her nap! she just crawled/rolled/cruised around her crib, slamming the rails and screaming bloody murder.

Last night we had a tantrum because I took my phone away from her, that one lasted at least 10 minutes. She was screaming like someone beat her. She is definitely getting an attitude on her! Anyone else's kid start clapping when they are mad? If she's really mad she starts clapping really hard and fast....it's cute.

which one? I have so many to choose from.....
DD had a complete meltdown when DH took her to daycare. He said she said "uh ohhhh" as soon as they pulled into the parking lot, and then she screamed and threw herself down as soon as he took her to her room. He tried sitting with her and staying for a little bit, but nothing made her better.

since lo has learned to walk he wants to do it everywhere. which means he no longer is content to sit in the cart when shopping and will throw a fit if he's not allowed to walk around and pull everything off every shelf...

When I let him drink out of my water glass and there was "no more" left. Meltdown. It seems that everything results in a melt down lately - I feel like I'm walking on eggshells!

This morning:
I picked her up to change her for the day.
I took her toothbrush away.
I carried her downstairs.
I tried to hold her.
I didn't hold her.
I turned away from her.
I was 4 feet from her.
I put her in her carseat.
I stopped singing If you're happy and you know it.
All of that between 6am and 6:30am. Hellloooooo daycare!!

J had a meltdown on Sunday because he was playing with a helium balloon, but every time he threw it (like a ball) it would float back up to the ceiling and no longer be in his hands....

@Mrs. Pen: That sounds really pathetic to have to watch! Haha
You guys are making me LOVE baby-stage right now! Definitely not looking forward to tantrums...

Whenever we try to direct her ANYWHERE (out of this room, into the kitchen, away from the dangerous objects) she squats down to the floor and pouts. If you reach down and try to hold her hand to lead her, she just keeps getting lower and lower. Basically her go-to for anything is to hit the deck. This morning it was because I was trying to shoo her out of our room so we could head to daycare.

No meltdowns this am, woo hoo!
Yesterday:
DS (22 mo) didn't like my oatmeal bar, went to the fridge and asked for yogurt. I took out yogurt and put it on the table. He said "no yogurt!" and cue meltdown.
DD (almost 5) wakes up, comes downstairs and says "where's dada?" He already left for work. Cue meltdown, ugly cry and everything. Lord help me.

@swurlygurl: The tantrums start off so subtle, then they're just crazy. I think it stems from being on the verge of walking and learning to communicate with your surroundings more than before.

@autumnlove: Ohh, a Sandra Boynton bath book. I'm there. For some reason, "The Going to Bed" book never gets old for me even when I'm forever bothered by why they exercise after putting on pjs.

@cascademom: I knew someone else out there had to be wondering why they were exercising after putting on pjs!

Last night I went to take a bath, alone *gasp* and my husband said she screamed bloody murder then entire time.

@plantains: Yes! I bugs me to no end. I see it more as something that would bother my husband more because he's big on that. I just can't get past exercising in your pjs before bed.

@cascademom: plus I keep think that it must confuse DD. She has a bath, brushes her teeth etc. She must keep wondering why we don't exercise during out nighttime routine:)
