I'm interested too! In particular people always say oh you'll be so much more relaxed with the do's and dont's for the second pregnancy.

it's sooo much more exhausting! i didn't feel any pregnancy symptoms with the 1st so it was a smooth and easy pregnancy... but with this 2nd one, i feel the symptoms a lot more. i'm also exhausted all the time, but can't rest when i want because i still have to look after my little girl. she still wants me to carry her more often than not and its just really straining on my body.

ditto @sloaneandpuffy.... i also worry less about this pregnancy and am more loose about everything! and i think about life with 2 kids a lot too, and sometimes... it scares me. i'm already drained as it is!

It was harder in some ways, but much easier in some ways. It's not fun to be sick with a toddler, but I was way more prepared this time around, and a lot more tricks up my sleeve to deal with the sickness. I was a lot more tired, and I got much bigger much faster (which is very common for 2nd pregnancies), so it was physically harder earlier in the pregnancy. However, I was a lot more relaxed/laid back about the whole process. I didn't worry about every little thing or obsess about tiny details. I felt a lot more confident and capable in birth/recovery/dealing with a newborn and I was a lot less worried about what having a kid would do to my marriage.

@sloaneandpuffy: @Mrs. High Heels: I think that's totally normal for second pregnancies, and those feelings will probably increase as you get further along. I think I was about 37 weeks when I felt the most scared/most guilty about having a second baby. I told my husband we had made a huge mistake, and he basically told me to suck it up because there was no turning back, lol! After having DS, though, I honestly can't remember what I was scared about. Having two kids is so much worse in your (pregnant) imagintion than in reality!

Glad to hear my worrying about having two is probably exaggerated!

Also forgot to add, my OB had told me that first-timers complain the most about the first tri, and veteran preggos complain the most about the third tri. I am DEFINITELY finding that to be the case. I am not sure why but I feel so much more uncomfortable nearing the end of this pregnancy than I did last time.

Almost half way there and other there being exhausted. I forgot that I am pregnant most days because I am distracted by LO. I also had a really rough pregnancy first go around, and this has been smooth sailing (knock on wood!)

We find out gender next week, so I am sure I will start thinking about getting the nursery ready etc.

If you have morning sickness it can be very tiring. I remember waking up to get my son and I just wanted to go back to bed. I was yawning the entire time I was getting him dressed and through brushing his teeth. I just wanted to sleep. But the upside is that he was such a good distraction for morning sickness when we went out so I tried to get out as much as possible. Once he went for his nap I started feeling horrible again. Luckily my morning sickness ended around 14 weeks and my second trimester was much, much better. Third, I just couldn't carry him on and off things as much or just carry him period. And after you have the baby it's a whole other story!

@Honeybee: gosh I sure hope I have the same experience as you. DD was not an easy baby for me so I really hope the next one cuts me some slack. And DD needs to cut me some slack, too.

I've found P2 a little more difficult than P1 mainly because I started P2 heavier than I was with P1 (started P2 at the weight I was at time of delivery for P1) and timing (the majority of P1 was over the winter, DD was born 4/1. the majority P2 has been over the summer, due 9/16, and it has been a brutally hot summer at that). Exhaustion and not being able to pick up DD when she wants have been rough because as others said you can't come home from work if you are feeling tired. Not needing to buy stuff has also been difficult since we have all the necessary gear and are team green (were last time as well) so until baby comes I can't justify clothing purchases.

DD was a dream baby and I do have the fear that #2 will be the exact opposite.

@cyndistar3: I agree also, 1 to 2 is way easier than 0 to 1! I had a hard time adjusting when my first was born--not being able to get up and go everywhere or have my alone time. After getting past that, having a second baby was really no big deal.

My older one is 3 and younger one is 1. The second pregnancy flew by because I didn't have time to think about it. My body is recovering more slowly because I didn't have time to work out during the second pregnancy. I just feel more flabby. As for dealing with two kids. Looking back now, it wasn't so hard. I was terrified while I was pregnant with the second. She ended up being a much easier baby than my older one. The fact that I didn't have to learn about everything from scratch made it a lot easier too. There were moments when things got hairy like when my husband went away for business the first time leaving me alone with 2. Like with the first child, I found that things got much easier once the second is 6-9 months old.

I didn't have MS with either pregnancy so I'm really blessed in that regard... with the second one though, I was definitely hit with fatigue much, much more. I was working full-time and a mom to a toddler with no immediate family to help nearby.

My biggest challenges though were the three times I got sick because DD 1 carried home germs from preschool. It sucks to be working, pregnant and sick, so even moreso when you're working, pregnant, sick and mom to a toddler who is also sick too! I got sick 3x during my 2nd pregnancy... once each trimester. Before having kids, I was hardly ever sick! But being exposed to germs is just inevitable with little ones I think.

But other than that, I loved it... I also did things for #2 I didn't do for #1 like take prenatal yoga classes, weekly bump photos, and pro maternity pics, so that was nice and very enjoyable!

It was also nice to put to good use all my old maternity clothes I had stored away... I also found it fun to shop again for some new pieces since more stores came out with cuter maternity clothes than when I was first pregnant and my pregnancies occurred in opposite seasons.
