Okay, I hope I'm not the only one who is suddenly dealing with this... Little man turned two back in January which means he's about 26 months. Besides the tantrums, whine fests, and high pitched squeals we've just achieved a new level with the terrible twos - Terror.
A quick example: This morning, he was watching Cat in the Hat on PBS while I finished getting our breakfast together. I had just entered the room with the plates and suddenly a car horn sounded. As soon as it sounded, he screamed, came running to me, and started clawing up me trying to get into my arms. Thankfully I had just put my coffee down. But he hid in my shoulder, cried, clung, kept pointing out the window and no amount of calm explanation helped.
Actually I'm still dealing with intermittent crying into my shoulder fests.
Someone hold me and bring booze. Anyone have any suggestions to get through this newest stage?? I don't have time to cuddle him indefinitely while he works through this. I have to deal with little sister too.
