Awww, but I like watermelon slices!!! But definitely if you're going to make a fruit salad or something with it, this makes sense!

@Adira: ha! I knew someone would say that! I hate slices, so messy, so I usually would cut into slices and then cut off the rind!
I like having chunks

@Mamaof2: I definitely agree that slices are messy! But there's just something about them that makes them so much fun to eat!!!

@Mamaof2: I always cut into chunks! Never tried that way though

I cut the watermelon into slices so that I get about 8-10 circular/oblong pieces. Then I cut those pieces like a cake into wedges. Smaller thinner wedges for LO and larger ones for me and the hubs. Very minimal work this way.

@Mamaof2: haha i actually think cutting them into chunks = more work. I cut them into slices and call it a day. I also try to buy small watermelons to prevent excess leftovers!

@sorrycharlie: She's cutting off all the green that way she's left with just the edible part of the watermelon. She'll then cut that into chunks.. probably bite sized. So when she reaches for watermelon she has a bowl of watermelon bites instead of having to grab a slice that has a rind on it she won't eat.
..right?

Lol! I prefer chunks.. I just cut it into quarters, cut along the green and then chop the big red piece.
I've never cut a pineapple without my crate and barrel pineapple slicer thing!

here is a way to cut them into slices, just omit the part where he takes it off the rind http://www.wikihow.com/Cut-a-Watermelon
