What's your favorite Thanksgiving dessert?
I think mine's pumpkin pie, but I'll never turn down a slice of pecan or sweet potato or apple (especially it it's my own caramel apple pie). I try to get tiny wedges of pie if there's more than one available so I can have them all!

I think if all calories/fat were equal, a nice slice of Pecan Pie is one of the best things on earth! But I always feel more guilty about pecan pie bc it is astronomically more fattening than just about anything else! I have looked at the nutritional info on the back of pecan pie and almost passed out- but man it is SOOOOOO good!

All the pies! I love pie. In my house we make "Arnold Palmer" pie....half a slice of apple wedged next to half a slice of pumpkin. mmmm!

I don't really like pie very much, but I like any kind of pie a la mode! Warm and with ice cream? YES!
Otherwise, i like pumpkin, minus the crust! I really don't like pecan pie or sweet potato pie very much, though. And i HATE whipped cream, unless it's 100% from scratch. Which it never is.

@MrsBrewer: Haha when I was little we always used the Redi-Whip cans of whipped cream. Now for Thanksgiving with DH's family I always whip some up shortly before we have dessert. I definitely prefer the taste and texture of making it from scratch, and I like to put dollops in the pumpkin spice coffee we have.

@FutureMrsMcK: How do you make the homemade whipped cream? Litterally just whipping cream, like with a hand mixer? Do you add anything to it?

@MrsBrewer: Yep. I usually whisk the heavy cream up in a cold bowl by hand until it thickens and stiff peaks almost form, then I add in a little bit of sugar (1-2tbsp? I just kind of eyeball it) and sometimes a few drops of vanilla and beat until peaks form. I think I'm going to bring down my little hand mixer this year, though.

@oliviaoblivia: We never called it that, but I always have a small slice of pumpkin and a small slice of apple.
I feel bad for DH, because pecan is his favorite, but no one in my family likes it so we never have it, and it wouldn't make sense to get a pie just for him. We always do Thanksgiving with my side so he never gets his pecan pie. Maybe I'll try to buy him a mini.

I lovvvvve Thankgiving pies- pumpkin, apple, etc.
However, one year I made a Pumpkin Cheesecake with Bourbon Sour Cream topping and it pretty much has eclipsed anything else as the Best Thanksgiving Dessert Ever.
