I know a Fitzy! I thought it was odd at first but it totally grew on me and I love it now. They had given him a more professional first name in case he didn't want to always go by Fitz

First thing that come to my mind is scandal. But I'm terrible. Haha.

I think of the band - Fitz and the tantrums. I never really thought of it as a name. But I like how it's not common.

I don't dislike it, but I would just think it was a nickname for someone with the last name Fitzgerald. Those are the only people I've ever heard of being called Fitz.

I also thought of Scandal immediately ! But if you really like it, chances are Scandal won't be around anymore in a few years?

We've talked about using Fitzpatrick as a middle name and calling him Fitz. DH's family is big on juniors, and we like it as a less literal nod to DH (since Fitz means "son of" and the second half is DH's name).

I like it! Just Fitz. I would be a fan.

I like it, especially as a nn for Fitzgerald! I met a little boy named Fritz once too - so adorable!

As a nickname, I like it. As a given first name, not a fan.

@LuLu Mom: Haha, me too! And now he's creeping me out, so it makes me not love the name.

I think it could be a cute name - and possibly transfer well into an adult name. In 20 years his generation won't know about PLL and Scandal

@looch: That's what "Mac" means too.

I don't really like it. I've only ever heard it as a nickname with someone whose last name starts with it. And I think the names that start with it (Fitzgerald, Fitzgibbons, etc) are all too last name-y.

I like it as a nn but definitely can only picture one thing when I hear it -- the president on Scandal.

@polkadots: DH's grandfather was Frederick and he went by Fritz...which is kind of close to Fitz
