Love this! The postpartum adjustment was more difficult than I expected it to be, so I can very much relate to this. I knew I would be tired, but I didn't know HOW tired + emotional + anxious I would be.

@RubyCali: I agree 100% with the "didn't know HOW tired." And I definitely have been crazy emotional.

Aww, man that brought back some memories. The few times I've managed to get away I still feel like I am naked & missing a body part...and constantly check the back seat cause I miss her.

Love it. The part about still swaying even when you aren't holding the baby? I thought I was bananas the first time that happened...and the second...lol.

I'll be there shortly. Thanks for sharing, it was good to read this before I get there.

I LOL'd for real at this line: "Look at pictures of clean houses on Pinterest while you masturbate."
But otherwise, nicely said (I've totally yelled at my LO to "just f*cking sleep already". It happens)

@blackbird: haha, I've yelled at Xander too, but it was more along the lines of "Why won't you f-ing latch on if you're f-ing hungry???" And then when he latched on incorrectly, it was "That f-ing hurts, you little f-er!"

@adira, glad I wasn't the only one throwing f-bombs at my infant. Hey, shit happens :). Mama doesn't keep her cool that great. Never been a strong point of mine, unfortunately.

@blackbird: When you've got a screaming infant who just needs _______ but is making it entirely difficult for you to give them _______, sometimes the only thing to do is drop some f-bombs! My brother told me he was worried that Xander was going to grow up thinking his name was "f-er" or "d-bag" because I used those so often those first few weeks!

I really like a lot of it! Great reminders. Although, I admit, I don't think I'd ever be okay with someone watching Pulp Fiction with my baby ha! And this rubs me a bit the wrong way "The size six supermoms who appear perky and well-rested? The ones who haul big designer diaper bags brimming with healthy snacks and water and sunscreen and extra outfits and hand sanitizer?" I don't think anyone on the street thinks I'm a supermom or anything, but it just seemed a little.. catty. I hope no one wishes eye herpes on me just because I have a big PPB with all that stuff in it and I'm petite!

@blackbird: That line was hilarious. I too have yelled at my baby to go the f to sleep. lol

@scg00387: yeah, that was the only part I didn't like. Maybe b/c I'm a size six and have an expensive diaper bag, I took offense to it.... but I'm most definitely not supermom and definitely not well rested!

@Adira: LOL. Same. The f-bomb was a frequent companion of mine those first few weeks. We (mostly affectionately) called LO our 'little turd' for a while....

@Bookish: haha, so glad to hear other moms do this! Sometimes calling him the f-word was the only way I kept my sanity!

@scg00387: I don't know that it's meant to be catty so much as saying its okay to feel jealous of those women because you are not one of them. I think it is meant to be very tongue in cheek in that way because so many women feel so awful about themselves PP.
