This is the 4th or 5th time it's happened - I start a thread, write out an entire post, and forget to select a board, then the pop-up "please select a board" comes up, and when I click "okay" it deletes my whole post! Dang! Is there some way to fix this?

@JoJoGirl: Have you tried using the back button instead of hitting 'okay'? I used the back button a few times and it usually remembers what was written.
ETA: Nevermind, I just tried it and it looks like you have to click 'okay' to get back to the page. I just tried it and I clicked 'okay' and my post was still there. Are you on your phone or computer? If so, what browser? I'm on Firefox on a computer and it worked fine for me. Maybe it's a browser issue.

@JoJoGirl: I'm on Chrome for Mac now, and clicking "okay" left my post there.
Can I ask what browser you're using? Would be great if you could post your useragent info from here:

@mrbee: just tried again - same thing happened. I click "okay" and it takes me back to the main board page but everything is in a different font. Weird!

Hmm, any other IE8 users out there who could test things to see if it's working for you?
1. Write a thread with a fake title and fake text.
2. Do not select a board.
3. Hit submit.
4. When the "Please select a board" popup appears, click OKAY
5. See if your fake title/text thread is still there... -
@mrbee: I opened up IE8 and did a test post with no board selected. Saw the pop up that asked me to select a board. Then clicked 'okay'. My post was still there. It didn't erase it.
Maybe it's a cookies or temp data storage issue in IE8 for @JoJoGirl: ?

Uhhh, okay. I just tested it again and now it doesn't work. After I hit 'okay', it erased my post.

@bluestriped bee: Ooooooooh. I bet you're right. I use Citrix at work and constantly have issues like this with other sites. Damn. Sorry @mr bee, prob not a HB issue at all!

Ok, tested it for a 3 and 4th time under IE8 and now it is working. I have no idea what is happening now and why it works and why it doesn't work.

Gotta head out to a school play right now though... will keep plugging away though.

@mrbee: Ok, I think I might have figure some sort of pattern.
If I got up and click on 'boards' at the top, scroll down to start a post, enter in the info, hit submit. Click 'okay' when it asks me to select a board. That is when, it will 'reload' and delete my post.
If I go to try to retype in my info (without a board), click submit, click 'okay', my info will not be deleted.

@bluestriped bee: So wait, how do you enter info without it getting deleted? You said retype it, but can you skip the first deletion?

@JoJoGirl: So it get's deleted the first time but then I re-type it and for some reason that second time does not delete my entry.
I'm using 'test' for both the title and the post so it's easy for me to re-type it.

This is slightly related but has anyone else had a recurring problem with deleting a chunk of text while typing a post and then having everything in the text box disappear?
It's so discouraging to have typed a reply to someone and then lose it all. Once in a while I can randomly get it back by going back and possibly forward again, but I usually have to start over and just give up.

If we're adding bugs that drive us bananas... Anytime I mouse over the HB logo at the top of the page, a thin line appears underneath (and doesn't go away). Its been there forever and drives me crazy (yep, I'm a designer), but its not a functionality thing so I haven't said anything
