@Autumnmama79: I think the creator plans to reveal it this season. I think we are getting close timewise. Teenage Kevin has his cast and he had it in the flashback during Jack’s funeral.
Here is the article with the creator I read when the season started. Maybe he doesn’t specifically say it is this season like I remembered. Maybe I’m just hopeful it’ll be fully revealed this season

@Autumnmama79: @Boopers: Ah see I think the wiring also. The dog is a good one!

Yes, I figured out the rescue the dog thing first. (We are crazy about our own dog so I can relate!) Kate is clutching the dog tightly after the fire and she also says it is her fault. They also foreshadow it when Rebecca says Jack can never say no to his daughter. I also think it will connect to the loss of Jack's brother in Vietnam. That's his brother in the photo, with the black glasses, right? Maybe he will be urged on by a memory of trying to go back and save his brother. Or maybe it will show him dying and thinking of going to be closer to his brother now in heaven. Anyway, those are my theories!
I think you could be right about the washing machine....seems like a logical fit.

Just checking in with everyone after the last episode. I am totally rooting for Kevin. I loved how mom had 'her moment' with him. Also like the title of the episode 'Fifth Wheel'.

@808love: I thought it was alright, kind of a soft start (by This Is Us standards) to the second half of the season. I think the arc of Kevin's character is to come out on top and overcome his challenges.
The family counselling session was interesting... I said to DH how crazy/bizarre/amazing it would be to do one of those with our own families as adults - could you imagine?!
Sadly I'm liking Rebecca less and less. I don't like the makeup job for her as an older woman and find I get fixated on that. She's not believable as an old lady/family matriarch.
Last note is how happy I was for Sterling to win the Golden Globe! I agree that he does a fantastic job playing Randall.

I do mostly love the show but I think I’m in the minority in that I cannot stand Kevin. I just dislike that actor / don’t think he’s talented. I love the rest of the cast though!

@wrkbrk: Not a Kevin fan either! Don't mind the actor but dislike the character - reminds me of too many narcissistic, self-centred ex's!

I am on maternity leave and started binge watching it. So good! I don't usually get to watch much TV of my choice.
I love Randall and Kate. Good character storylines.
I was underwhelmed by William's story. I like his acting and was hoping for something magic.
No dislikes

@Mamaof2: I know, right!!
I actually haven't found another Kevin fan yet. Most people dislike him, I am guessing for obvious reasons...but it makes me like him even more! Underdog! (Now that I think about it, he does remind me of some of my exes. Yikes! What does that mean??)
@Autumnmama79: I'm with you on Rebecca. I work hard to keep my empathy line open for her and overlook her flaws.

What do you think about setting up Madison with Kevin? Might work for a bit. She is Sophie-ish in appearance.
I heard the appliance in question got a lot of backlash!! They have to do some big time reputation repair now. https://www.inc.com/amy-george/crock-pots-response-to-angry-this-is-us-fans-shows-why-every-company-needs-a-pr-crisis-plan.html

@808love: Madison and Kevin.. hmmm could work for a bit..
This last episode left me with goosebumps and I am so not looking forward to the next one!! I am going to be a blubbering fool.
I have to admit that I am growing fonder of Kevin's character...especially after this last episode. The way he apologized to his mom on the phone but was going to wait to talk to his dad and now it appears he'll never get that chance... that has got to weigh heavily on him and I guess it def brings me to have more sympathy for him.....

@Ajsmommy: I love how we can see a glimpse into Kevin's struggles that drives him to his choices.
I think that is what I loved about the Lost series that reminds me of This is US. You get to see the WHY behind the present. So deep and I'm all about that character analysis.
