We're debating between 2 names right now for DS (Collin and Landon). Our last name starts with a L and is one syllable. Hubby thinks Landon L has too much alliteration to it; and is liking Collin Maddox L. What do you think of it?
Feel free to suggest a different middle name also. Hubby and I don't have middle names so this is new territory for us!

Collin (this was one of my top choices for a boy)!
Ok, it's really lame that I know this, but Landon Carter is the name of Shane West's character in A Walk to Remember, so that's all I can think of when I saw that name. I don't think your DS's peers would know that, though!

I voted for Collin because of the L/L factor. Full discolsure that my DH is named Collin and I happen to think it's an awesome name (especially with two L's)!

@lawbee11: Ahhh That makes so much sense!! I never saw the movie (I know, crazy right?), but it was filmed in my hometown and I know like 20 Landon's under the age of 6!

I love the name Collin! Colin was on my short list but DH vetoed it 
I also really love the name Landon, though...ever since reading the Thursday Next series, so I'm not really much help!

I like Landon. Lyndon was one of my potential boys names, actually (which is close). I like both middle names.

I love the name Landon, but the one syllable L last name reminds me of Lois Lane or Lana Lang 
I do like Collin as well, but know several Collins!

Collin still has the L issue. I think I would prefer to have the L at the beginning than in the middle. One of my favorite names from here uses alliteration with two H's. Sometimes it gets stuck in my head because it rolls so well.
But I have an issue with Colin because it sounds so much like a human organ.

Either way you have two L sounds, so I think they would be OK with an L last name (I'm picturing it with different L names now). I slightly prefer Landon but I really do like both.

DH, DS and I are all LL (which puts pressure on naming baby#2!). I was LL before I got married too.
That said, I prefer Collin to Landon.

What about Collin Landon if you like those two names? People won't be using the middle name much so the alliteration won't matter as much with a middle name.

I used the last name "lee" in my mind to say them, and I think Collin Lee tripped me up a LOT more than Landon Lee. I LOVE Landon Carter Lee but I guess what your real last name is matters more

I don't think the alliteration is a huge deal so long as your last name is more than one syllable. Just my personal opinion. I say go with the name you like more...
Fwiw, I voted for Collin because I like it more.
