That sounds like a nightmare - he would run shrieking down the halls at my office I do WAH mostly though so I should have let him stay home from daycare

Nope; wasn't even announced/encouraged.
Also most people w/ kids are off for Spring Break.
My old job used to encourage it and have a whole day of activities and special lunch!

My office had a whole days of activities planned for the kids today. They had to be at least 5 years old in order to participate.
I don't have any kids yet, but it was nice to see all of my coworkers kids..

I didn't have to work today. DD always goes with me to work though.

No one mentioned it as an option at my office - only 2 out of the 6 of us have young/not grown children. It might have been fun to bring him in for a little while, but he's a toddler so chaos would ensue.

Aren't these events usually for older kids? I remember going to my dad's office when I was in middle school.

Baby sister is coming with me to a business lunch tomorrow, but the big girls are staying home.
My boss would lose her sh*t if I took the big girls to the office. She can't handle a small mess let alone tiny mess makers.

My husband is an engineer at a big company, and they were having engineering events all day for the kids. It was geared toward older kids, not 2 year olds, though!

Didn't even know it was today! I'm the only one in my immediate office that has kids who aren't adults so maybe that's why.

I'm a nanny, and bring my 8 month old with me every day I work, so yes!

The program at DH's office was for kids ages 7 & up - he asked around and no one was bringing in younger children this year.
DD1 had special guests in her preschool class, though - the teacher & director's 10 and 11 year old daughters came in and helped with some extra art projects/stories.

Kids have to be at least 7-8 to participate at our office.

I think our office they need to be 6 but it was cute to see so many kids around! I love kids.

No, I'm a teacher in the middle of testing season.
I do have permission to bring her in on May 19 though! I'm super excited!

This doesn't happen until August at my workplace and the kids have to be older than 5. It's a big event with lots of special activities. I've taken my DD 2 years in a row.

My HR department purposely schedules ours on Halloween so no kids will come and hang around the office.

No. My firm doesn't do this. My husband's work does, but the kids have to be at least 6.

I'm in Canada, and our take your kids to work day is in the late fall, and is only grade 9 students. I work for the city, and they set up a day worth of activities related to the various jobs, so you don't get to keep your kid with you specifically.

@Sapphiresun: Same with my company, it's in November just for Grade 9 students...the kids all go to do fun activities and then meet up with parents for lunch.

Ours was yesterday and I actually boycott the day, because it used to be Take Your Daughters to work day and I feel it's totally lost the point. I volunteered at one of the very first events held at my workplace 20 years ago or so and I won't even consider it now. Makes me feel sad...and I have a son, lol.

Our work used to host a thing for school-aged kids, but not any younger. However, I never received any notice about it so maybe they cancelled it since it's still the school year here.

Haha, apparently the child of someone at NPR caused a minute of dead air on Take Your Kid to Work Day:

I feel like it would be complete chaos if all of the parents in my office brought their kid to work on the same day, but maybe the key is to just do it for a half hour and then send them back to daycare/school?

No, and I actually had a work event at night that would have been ok for her to come to (with dad to watch since I was running it). But she is sick and just would have been a pain!
I know my older nephew did go to work with my SIL, she posted a picture of him running the cash register at the bookstore she does events at! It was cute
